Summary: The Robotic Welding Technician is a professional who sets up, operates, and maintains robotic welding equipment. They are responsible for robot designing/programming, welding robots’ maintenance/troubleshooting, and implementing robotic welding for production. Robotic welding technicians are also accountable for the quality and housekeeping goals. Essential Functions: The Robotic Welding Technician supports manufacturing by improving department efficiency. Robotic weld technicians are critical to the fabrication of metallic parts or assemblies through welding by using robotic machines. This position requires the ability to interpret blueprints, execute quality welds, and deliver consistent results in a fast-paced shop environment. This role offers the chance to work with advanced tools and processes, gain expertise in ASME code welding, and contribute directly to the durability and reliability of complex mechanical systems. Position Summary Perform trade specific quality work consistent with CAD/FAB and Energy procedures to ensure product meets or exceeds customer expectations. Role Responsibilities \n • Operate trade specific machinery and trade specific tools (i.e., calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tool).\n, • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products..\n, • Identify product defects and effectively communicate defects to project foreman. \n, • Follow P&IDS for assembly tracks on projects.\n, • Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements.\n, • Working with overheard cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts.\n, • Work closely with other fabricators, welders and laborers to improve their skills and provide training.\n, • Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods.\n, • Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times.\n, • Assist shop foreman or superintendent with production tracking and to insure production goals are met.\n, • Communicate status of orders to the foreman or shop superintendent.\n, • Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff.\n, • Perform prioritized work flow assignments as directed by foreman or shop superintendent.\n, • Ability to maintain welder certification per customer and company procedure specifications.\n, • Perform X-Ray Quality Welds on process piping, hydronics, and pressure vessels.\n, • Using shop blueprints, Fit up X-ray quality weld joints. \n, • ASME Pressure Vessel, Piping, Welding to B31.1, 31.3, 31.9 Criteria.\n, • Maintain a clean and safe work area.\n, • Other Duties as assigned.\n\n Qualifications \n • 5 years of experience, 3 years welding experience minimum preferred. \n, • Familiarity with welding on a rotator, understands fitting up with a rotator in mind. \n, • Knowledge of various welding techniques, including MIG and ARC welding processes. Familiarity with TIG a plus.\n, • Knowledge of metallurgy.\n, • Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques.\n, • Knowledge of pipe trade tools (Two-Hole Pins, Center-finders, Pipe wraps, Angle finders)\n, • Prior to being hired must be capable of proficiently passing 6G FCAW weld test. \n, • Within one week of hire must be capable of passing a 6G GMAW weld test.
