Position Summary The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day functions of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and operational efficiency across accounting processes. This role also oversees payroll administration and controls in ADP to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing. This individual will supervise accounting staff, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and partner cross-functionally to improve controls, reporting accuracy, and financial transparency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment. This role is critical to supporting leadership with accurate financial insights and preparing the organization for continued scale. Responsibilities Financial Operations & Reporting • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals., • Prepare and review internal financial statements and dashboards., • Ensure timely and accurate completion of AP, AR, fixed assets, and inventory accounting., • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing in ADP, ensuring accurate and timely payroll for all employees., • Review and approve payroll registers, earnings, deductions, bonuses, commissions, and payroll adjustments., • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements., • Coordinate with HR and management on new hires, terminations, benefits changes, and compensation updates., • Manage payroll audits, tax filings, W-2s, and year-end payroll reporting., • Maintain payroll documentation, controls, and appropriate segregation of duties., • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies., • Manage annual financial statement review and tax preparation with external auditors., • Supervise accounting staff; provide coaching, performance reviews, and development plans., • Collaborate with departments such as Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations to ensure accurate cost tracking, margin analysis, and budgeting alignment., • Assist in budget development, monthly variance analysis, and forecasting updates., • Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting operations., • Maintain documentation for processes and internal procedures., • Support NetSuite, NSPB and Power BI improvements and integration initiatives.Requirements, • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA, MBA or CMA a plus., • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role., • Strong knowledge of US GAAP., • Hands-on experience managing payroll systems and payroll compliance (ADP preferred)., • Experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or inventory-driven environment preferred., • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with NetSuite and Power BI a plus., • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills., • Competitive base pay and annual bonus, • A supporting, thriving team focused work culture and environment—one where your co-workers really want you to succeed, • Health, dental and vision insurance, • Matching 401(k) program, • An opportunity to make an impact to the success of the company, • Milestone rewards for 5 and 10 year anniversaries with the company, • Being a part of an organization that gives back to the community Success Factor 1: Faster, More Predictable Month-End Close • Reduce close cycle time through disciplined AR/AP management and standardized workflows., • Deliver accurate, fully supported financial statements on schedule., • Maintain clean balance sheet reconciliations with minimal post-close adjustments. Success Factor 2: Strong Budget Accountability & Management Insights • Deliver standardized monthly Actual vs. Budget and Forecast reporting., • Clearly explain variance drivers, risks, and opportunities., • Partner with Directors on corrective actions and monitor progress., • Improve visibility into labor and non-labor spend. Success Factor 3: Develop, Lead, and Strengthen the Accounting Team • Build team capability through coaching and training., • Establish clear roles and performance expectations., • Ensure cross-training and backup coverage., • Conduct regular performance reviews.
