Job DescriptionAbout the Role A multi-site healthcare organization is seeking a Director of Information Systems to lead enterprise applications, infrastructure, integrations, and data security across the business. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership position responsible for the architecture, governance, and optimization of clinical and business platforms that support patient care, revenue cycle, workforce operations, and executive decision-making. The director will partner closely with clinical, financial, and operational stakeholders to ensure technology investments scale with organizational growth and meet healthcare regulatory standards. Responsibilities: Enterprise Architecture and Integration • Design and maintain the integration architecture connecting clinical, financial, HR, and CRM systems across the organization., • Set standards for system configuration, change control, and technical documentation., • Oversee data flows, identity management, and system dependencies to maintain accuracy, consistency, and security., • Balance short-term fixes with long-term architectural planning to reduce technical debt. Clinical Systems Oversight • Provide technical and architectural direction for the organization's electronic health record (EHR) platform, ensuring uptime, performance, and secure integration with adjacent systems., • Partner with clinical leaders, operations, and external vendors to support configuration updates, enhancements, and workflow refinements., • Confirm that infrastructure, networking, and security controls meet clinical system requirements., • Manage vendor coordination and escalation for EHR issues affecting patient care. CRM and Engagement Platforms • Lead the technical direction of the enterprise CRM platform across business and operational teams., • Define system architecture, data flow, and integration patterns between the CRM and clinical, financial, and operational systems., • Support data integrity, permissions structures, and reporting frameworks aligned with business priorities., • Translate operational requirements into scalable CRM design and enhancements. Financial and ERP Systems • Direct the enterprise ERP platform that supports financial, operational, and reporting workflows., • Manage integrations between the ERP and upstream and downstream platforms, including the CRM, clinical systems, and reporting tools., • Maintain data accuracy, role-based access, and reporting readiness for finance and executive leadership., • Guide platform modernization and long-term strategy in line with organizational growth. HR, Payroll, and Workforce Systems • Act as the technical owner for the HRIS and payroll platform, supporting payroll, benefits, and workforce data needs., • Build and manage secure integrations between the HRIS and financial, identity, and reporting systems., • Maintain role-based access, data privacy, and compliance with employment and healthcare data regulations., • Support audit readiness and reporting in partnership with HR and Finance. IT Infrastructure and Network Management • Oversee enterprise network architecture, including firewalls, VLAN segmentation, Wi-Fi, site-to-site connectivity, and WAN design., • Lead network refresh and infrastructure modernization initiatives across multiple locations., • Ensure that clinical-critical systems, including imaging and DICOM devices, operate securely within segmented and compliant network environments., • Coordinate on-site installations, hardware validation, and vendor-led implementations. Security, Compliance, and Risk • Lead HIPAA-aligned security initiatives spanning applications, infrastructure, and data flows., • Oversee identity and access management, encryption, email security, retention policies, and device compliance., • Prepare the organization for third-party audits and remediation efforts tied to security and compliance findings., • Serve as the escalation point for IT risk assessment and mitigation planning. Vendor, Project, and Stakeholder Leadership • Serve as the IT lead on cross-functional initiatives across clinical, finance, HR, and operations., • Manage relationships with managed service providers, software vendors, and system integrators., • Evaluate vendor proposals, licensing decisions, and platform investments., • Communicate technical trade-offs clearly to executive and operational audiences. Team Leadership • Provide mentorship, direction, and technical guidance to internal IT staff and partners., • Run recurring operational check-ins to align priorities and clear blockers., • Translate business goals into executable technology strategies., • Act as the primary technical authority for enterprise system and infrastructure decisions. Minimum Qualifications • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise systems architecture and integrations in a multi-site environment., • Hands-on technical oversight of an EHR platform in a healthcare setting., • Experience leading an enterprise CRM platform across business and operational functions., • Working knowledge of ERP and finance platform administration, including integrations with adjacent systems., • Experience as the technical owner of an HRIS and payroll platform., • Strong background in healthcare IT compliance, including HIPAA., • Proven experience designing and managing enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, VLAN segmentation, Wi-Fi, site-to-site connectivity, and WAN., • Experience managing vendor relationships, contracts, and licensing decisions., • Track record of translating business needs into scalable technology strategy. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting clinical-critical systems and medical imaging or DICOM devices within segmented network environments., • Background preparing organizations for third-party security and compliance audits., • Experience leading multi-site network refresh or modernization programs., • Demonstrated ability to mentor IT staff and partner with executive stakeholders.
