Job Description This position contributes to the success of Los Angeles Athletic Club (“Company”) by creating positive experiences for every member and guest who visits the Club by providing excellent food and beverage service in a warm welcoming environment. Responsibilities: • Arrives to work on time in proper uniform and ready to work., • Ensure the dining room and other service areas are set according to Company procedures, including inspection and procuring of adequate supplies per business needs., • Set up back station and dining room for service, including but not limited to, appropriate menus distributed, bus station set, water, and coffee service stocked., • Welcome members and guests as they enter the dining area, learn their name, and use it with every interaction thereafter., • Engage members and guests and personalize their dining experience through suggestive selling and menu knowledge., • Actively contribute to sales and revenue goals through upselling, suggestive selling, and promoting Club specials, featured items, and events., • Know all the details of your food and beverage menu for your guests’ experience, restrictions, and allergies., • Communicate any special requests to the culinary team and support staff., • Receive orders and enter them into the Point of Sale (P.O.S.) system accurately and immediately., • Maintain knowledge and proficiency in technology systems (POS, handheld devices, QR code menus, member applications) to ensure smooth operations., • Practice proper table maintenance in compliance with Company standards., • Deliver food and beverages promptly, ensuring accuracy, quality, and presentation standards., • Ensure every guest check is current and accurate before presenting it to the member or guest for payment., • Collect payment and obtain member signature for every transaction, and room number from hotel guests., • Ensure side work and closing procedures are completed in compliance with company standards., • Maintain a clean and organized dining room and work area., • Visually inspect all work areas, food service, and ensure they are clean and presentable to members and guests., • Comply with all Food and Beverage regulations and liquor laws, including but not limited to, checking ID before serving liquor to a member or guest that looks under 30 years of age., • Handle member and guest concerns with professionalism, taking ownership of service recovery and escalating only when necessary., • Assist other associates as needed to ensure an elevated member and guest experience., • Support other Food and Beverage outlets as needed and demonstrate adaptability through cross-training in multiple outlets (restaurants, lounges, banquets, and events)., • Participate in banquet and private event service, including setup, execution, and breakdown, as scheduled by management., • Report all dining room incidents and concerns with members, guests, or associates to the Outlets Manager., • Build and maintain long-term relationships with members by remembering preferences and anticipating needs to enhance their Club experience., • Attend and contribute to pre-shift meetings and required trainings to strengthen product knowledge, service standards, and team communication. Consistently adhere to the Los Angeles Athletic Club core service standards: • Exemplify high-quality hospitality by making every member, guest, and business partner feel welcomed, valued, respected, and listened to; greet at every encounter, offer assistance to anyone who appears in need, escort individuals to correct destination., • Take responsibility for maintaining an uncompromisingly clean Club; maintain your work area neat and clean, clean after yourself in associate and member areas, be proactive in maintaining member areas neat and clean by performing minor clean up as needed (i.e., cleaning minor food and liquid spills, storing forgotten exercise equipment, wiping equipment, etcetera); and promptly report needed repairs, potential safety issues, significant cleaning jobs to housekeeping, cleaning, and/or engineering department., • Follow through with resolutions to problems from beginning to end; break away from your regular duties if needed to follow through on resolutions., • Be knowledgeable of Club information; maintain sufficient and updated information to be able to easily answer questions from members and guest thoroughly from beginning to end., • Practice personal hygiene: wear clean and pressed clothing, and proper uniform if required by your position., • Use proper and welcoming telephone etiquette; do not screen calls, answer calls by the 3rd ring, smile while you speak., • Reply to emails the same day you receive them., • Anticipate and comply with member needs and record their preferences., • Be an ambassador of the Los Angeles Athletic Club in and outside the workplace; always represent yourself and the club professionally and with respect. Ensure A Safe Work Environment: • Comply with the Company Health and Safety (H&S) processes while working on projects, initiatives, and other work-related duties; perform job duties in a way that will not cause danger to self or others, or violate local, state, federal, environmental regulations., • Promptly correct or report any hazard, potential hazard, or unsafe work condition to the Director of Facilities, and/or People & Culture; wear protective equipment when required; ensure work location is kept safe, clean, and organized. Education, licenses, & certifications: • Required: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in same or similar positions in the Food & Beverage industry, • Required: Food Handlers and Responsible Beverage Service Certification(s), • Ideal: TIPS Certification, • Required: At least twenty-one (21) years of age., • Required: Reliable and punctual attendance., • Required: Excellent time-management skills; prioritizing and completing assigned job tasks effectively., • Ideal: Bi-lingual oral, speech, and writing skills in English and other languages is an asset in this position, • Required: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, • Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey messages clearly and compose correspondence with correct and proper grammar., • Required: convey messages clearly and confidently; persuade and effect change positively., • Required: Capable of working effectively independently with minimal supervision, • Required: Strong analytical skills., • Required: High attention to detail and accuracy, • Required: Strong organizational skills, • Required: Ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently meet deadlines and produce work in a timely manner., • Required: Ability to elicit and accept constructive feedback.
