Job Description Job Title: Packer and Shipper Job Description This role focuses on accurately assembling, labeling, and preparing outgoing orders to ensure they meet all specified shipping requirements. You will work in a small warehouse environment handling packaged products, following established procedures, and supporting efficient and compliant order fulfillment through carriers such as UPS and FedEx. Responsibilities • Sort and prioritize orders according to mode of transportation, ship date, and specific shipping requirements designated by the customer., • Pull and pick customer orders from stock using an RF scanner to ensure accuracy and efficiency., • Assemble customer orders from inventory, ensuring all items are correctly selected and prepared for shipment., • Mark and label all orders clearly so that contents, destinations, and shipping information are easy to identify and verify., • Use a manual or electric pallet jack to safely move materials, containers, and packages throughout the warehouse., • Organize completed orders neatly on shelves or designated staging areas to maintain order flow and accessibility., • Follow UPS and FedEx small-parcel shipping procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance and timely delivery., • Perform all tasks according to pre-established safety, quality, and efficiency standard operating procedures., • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation, including the surrounding floor area, at the end of each workday., • Handle containers and packages safely, including lifting, carrying, and positioning them for packing and shipping., • Climb ladders when necessary to retrieve containers and packages from higher storage locations. Essential Skills • Strong experience in order fulfillment, including picking, packing, and shipping processes., • Hands-on experience with UPS and FedEx small-parcel shipping procedures and guidelines., • Ability to use an RF scanner for pulling and picking orders accurately., • Ability to operate a manual or electric pallet jack safely and effectively., • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)., • A minimum of 6 months of previous related work experience in packing, shipping, or warehouse operations., • Capability to stand and walk for long periods of time throughout the shift., • Ability to reach with hands and arms overhead above shoulder level to retrieve or store items., • Ability to bend frequently to retrieve containers and packages from lower shelves or floor level., • Ability to constantly lift containers and packages, including weights up to 60 pounds., • Comfort climbing ladders to retrieve containers and packages when required., • Attention to detail in labeling, packaging, and inventory handling. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with packing, shipping, labeling, and packaging in a warehouse or distribution environment., • Familiarity with inventory handling, picking, and packer assembly tasks., • Comfort working with 1-gallon and 5-gallon containers or similar bulk packaging., • Ability to follow safety, quality, and efficiency standard operating procedures consistently., • Strong organizational skills to keep orders, shelves, and work areas orderly., • Reliability and punctuality to support a consistent first-shift schedule., • Interest in a short-term assignment with potential for contract-to-hire. Work Environment This position is based in a small warehouse environment with approximately 10 team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. The role follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will regularly handle 1-gallon and 5-gallon containers and must be able to lift up to 60 pounds throughout the day. The facility is non-climate-controlled, so it can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer, and you should be comfortable working in these conditions. Work involves frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching overhead, and climbing ladders, as well as operating RF scanners and manual or electric pallet jacks in a warehouse setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Westminster, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
