    Job description: 5th Ave Fitness is a boutique personal training studio in Park Slope/Gowanus looking for certified personal trainers to join our team. We're a small, client-focused gym where trainers actually get to know their clients—not a revolving door of members you'll never see twice. WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT: W2 employment (not 1099) — We handle your taxes, you get unemployment protection Guaranteed pay during scheduled blocks — Even if a client cancels, you still get paid admin rate No sales quotas — We do the selling. You do the training. Small client roster — Quality over quantity. You'll actually remember everyone's name. Team environment — Trainers collaborate, cover for each other, and share best practices Clear advancement path — Performance reviews, merit raises COMPENSATION: Training sessions: $30-35/hr (entry) Admin time: $18-20/hr (during scheduled blocks) Buddy sessions: $44-46.25/hr Paid sick leave (1 hr per 30 hrs worked) Quarterly performance bonuses SCHEDULE: We use a 3-hour block system. You commit to specific blocks each week (e.g., Mon/Wed/Fri 7-10am). During your blocks, you train clients and handle admin duties. We need coverage especially during: Morning peak: 7am-10am (Mon-Fri) Evening peak: 5pm-8pm (Mon-Fri) Weekends: 9am-3pm Minimum commitment: 2-3 blocks per week (6-9 hours). Ideal: 15-25 hours/week. Currently prioritizing weeknight and weekend availability REQUIREMENTS: Current personal training certification (NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM, ISSA, or equivalent) CPR/AED certification (or willing to obtain before start) 1+ years training experience preferred (recent grads with strong practicum considered) Reliable, punctual, and professional Genuinely enjoy helping people who are new to fitness BONUS POINTS: Experience with beginners or deconditioned populations Knowledge of corrective exercise or injury prevention Comfortable with older adults (40+) Available for morning peak hours (7-10am) or evening peak hours (5pm - 8pm) TO APPLY: Submit your resume and a brief note about why you want to work at a small studio vs. a big-box gym.
