Job Description The Mental Health Association is seeking a Crisis Outreach Supervisor for our new program, 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Team, operating out of the Essex County location. The 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Response program will respond to adults (18 and above) in nonlife-threatening situations who have contacted the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The Mobile Crisis Outreach Response program (MCORT) responds 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, to nonlife-threatening mental health, substance use or suicidal crises in the community. MCORT will work in coordination with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline crisis centers. (The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline was formerly the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.) MCORT is to be comprised of a two-person team in the field under supervision by a third professional from a centralized location. Shift times available: 11PM - 7AM Qualified applicants for the position of Crisis Outreach Supervisor will have, at minimum: • A Master’s Degree in a mental health related field from an accredited institution, a professional license (LSW, LAC) and two years of post-master’s full time equivalent professional experience in a psychiatric setting required., • A professional with experience in a crisis setting is preferred., • A valid NJ driver’s license and a good driving record., • The ability to provide effective crisis response and de-escalation as related to community mental health in the community. Able to collaborate effectively with community providers and 988 managing entity., • Under the direction of the Program Director, the Crisis Outreach Supervisor oversees staff development and activities of the MCORT office., • Assist the Program Director in the development of the program’s administrative and programmatic operations which includes staff scheduling, training and orientation., • Provide back up to the Mobile Crisis Outreach Response staff in the field., • Engage with the Crisis Outreach Responder, when necessary, to provide higher level clinical services which includes assessing and determining the most appropriate interventions during a crisis outreach., • Provide ongoing supervision to the MCORT team including Crisis Outreach Responders and Peer Support Specialists., • Ensure training compliance for the MCORT in the following areas: de-escalation, mental health crisis, substance use crisis, and suicide prevention/education training., • Provide education and training to staff on data collection and reporting., • Review and sign off on at least 20% of Mobile Crisis Outreach Response reports for quality assurance purposes., • Collaborate with the Program Director to analyze data an develop reports on mobile outreach encounters, their resolution, and appropriate transition of care for the individuals served., • Provide weekend/holiday coverage on a rotating basis for 24 hour/7 day access to services., • Record keeping, reports, and documentation in accordance with program requirements., • Attend regularly scheduled meetings: supervision, agency meetings, and training(s) as assigned., • Record keeping as required by funding sources through the electronic clinical record software, and/or accreditation agencies as required. #High Fully paid medical coverage for eligible staff. Job Duties & Requirements • Instruct individuals and groups in enrichment activities involving coding and technology, using a variety of methods and mediums, and adapting to participant and stakeholder needs and environments, • Be on-call from time to time (flexible to be adjusted by instructors weekly) during after-school and/or weekend shifts in addition to any other availability, • Have excellent communication skills and fluency in English (both verbal and writing), • Have excellent punctuality and time management skills, including the ability to arrive promptly to scheduled enrichment activity sessions in the greater Essex and Union counties of New Jersey, and be able to allocate time appropriately during sessions (e.g., for greetings, setup, instruction, wrap-up), • Plan, order, manage, setup, conduct, clean up, and/or assess activities, materials, and supplies as needed for activity sessions and environments (employees are supplied and/or reimbursed for activity materials and supplies), • Be physically able to (1) conduct in-person sessions in a variety of environments and formats including standing, walking, and sitting (e.g., up to 1-2 hours usually, and potentially up to 4-8 hours rarely), (2) lift activity related supplies and materials (e.g., up to 10 pounds usually, and potentially up to 30-40 pounds rarely), (3) have accurate vision and hearing to assess and provide feedback relating to participant work and their questions, and to perform work accurately and safely, and (4) adapt spontaneously to the needs of a variety of participants, environments, situations, and activity sessions., • Improve and modify activity sessions regularly, including seeking and integrating internal and external stakeholder feedback, customization requests, and other operational needs, • Be able to collaborate with, train, and assess other team members, providers, apprentices, and/or staff in enrichment related activities and skills, • Be able to join for virtual and in-person team meetings if scheduled from time to time, • Perform work in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, company policies, industry best practices, and other requirements and standards, as well as evolving regulations and standards that may surface from time to time, • Prepare required reports and paperwork from time to time as needed, • Have strong organizational, collaboration, multitasking, and reporting skills, • Be proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (e.g., Docs, Sheets, Slides), email, and text messaging, • Willing to learn and be flexible with the evolving needs of an early-stage initiative, • Work with fellow team members in various areas from time to time such as activity planning, team building, providing feedback, marketing, operations, and other ad-hoc administrative tasks that may fall under candidate capabilities and interests, • Perform other related duties as assigned or modified by management, • Be a strong individual and team player, • Be detail-oriented with a proactive approach to teaching and problem-solving, • Have a positive, self-motivated, and professional demeanor, • Be comfortable working with individuals and groups of any age, race, color, religion, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status without discrimination, • Bachelors, equivalent, or advanced degree preferred, • 1+ years of related experience in a teaching, tutoring, mentoring, training, coaching, or supplementary instruction type of role preferred, • Previous experience in event coordination, community service, customer service, communications, or a related field is a plus, • Familiarity with (or willingness to learn or assess if needed) tools in social media, marketing, content creation, or other relevant areas What We Offer: • Competitive hourly pay (~$25-$35 per hour), • Flexible work hours and within candidates availability, • Bi-weekly pay for hours worked (e.g., direct deposit or mailed check), • Participation in NJ Earned Sick Leave Benefit Program, • Paid Unemployment, Temporary Disability, Family Leave, and Workers Compensation Insurances, • Social Security Deduction, • A supportive and collaborative work environment, • Opportunities for career growth and development, • Opportunities to make a positive impact How to Apply: Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume.
