Job Description Mobile Wound Care Physician (MD/DO) – New York Location: Field-Based (New York City, Long Island, Hudson Valley, Albany, Binghamton, Vestal, Endicott, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, or surrounding areas preferred) Job Type: Part-Time to start | Direct Hire (W-2) Omni Wound Physicians is actively hiring Mobile Wound Care Physicians (MDs/DOs) in New York to deliver advanced, in-person wound care services. This is a field-based role with daily driving requirements to patient care sites, including skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), long-term care centers, and private residences. This opportunity is ideal for physicians seeking autonomy, flexibility, and purpose-driven care delivery in a mobile environment while being fully supported as a direct employee. All positions are classified as W-2 employment in compliance with New York State Labor Law and IRS requirements. Hiring Locations (New York) We are currently hiring in: * New York City (all boroughs) * Long Island (Nassau, Suffolk) * Hudson Valley (Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange) * Albany and Capital District * Western NY (Buffalo, Rochester) * Central NY (Syracuse, Utica, Binghamton) Statewide travel opportunities available for underserved or rural areas Schedule & Shift Options * Minimum Scheduling Requirement: At least two shifts per work week * Shifts: Typically between 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM local time (subject to change based on business needs) * Full-Time: Minimum 30+ hours per week (includes full benefits package) * Part-Time: Minimum 2 shifts per week (paid sick time accrual provided in accordance with NY State Paid Sick Leave Law and any applicable local ordinances such as NYC or Westchester County) * On-Call & Weekend Coverage: May be required occasionally; advance notice provided whenever possible Pay Transparency Employment Pay Range: $245,000 – $525,000 annually Final compensation is based on regional coverage, experience, and productivity. This role may also include incentive or bonus eligibility depending on assignment type. Compensation & Benefits (W-2 Employment) * Competitive per-visit OR base hourly/salary (bi-weekly payroll) * Separate vacation and sick time accruals in compliance with NY labor laws * CME reimbursement and support for wound care certification (CWSP, CWS) * Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel * Company-paid malpractice insurance * 401(k) with employer match Core Duties and Responsibilities * Deliver bedside wound care to patients in SNFs, LTCs, and homes * Perform wound care procedures: sharp debridement, NPWT, biopsies, gastrostomy care * Diagnose and manage complex wounds (diabetic, venous, arterial, pressure, post-op) * Secure and document informed patient consent prior to treatment in compliance with NY Public Health Law * Educate patients and caregivers on wound management and prevention * Document visits in real time using OWP’s HIPAA-compliant EHR system * Collaborate with SNF staff, interdisciplinary teams, and internal coordinators * Participate in clinical quality improvement and workflow optimization * Perform other reasonable duties as assigned in support of organizational goals Qualifications & Experience Required: * Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree * Active, unrestricted medical license in New York (New York State Education Department – Office of the Professions) * Board certification in a relevant specialty (Surgery preferred; OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine also accepted) * Minimum of 3–6 years of clinical practice in wound care, geriatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or related specialties * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification * Reliable personal vehicle and valid New York driver’s license or other state-issued license allowing operation in NY * Auto insurance meeting or exceeding New York State minimum liability requirements Preferred: * Wound Care Certification (CWSP, CWS) or ability to obtain within 1 month * DEA registration for prescriptive authority in New York (highly preferred) * Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or home health settings * Proficiency with EHR systems and workflow efficiency tools Physical and Driving Requirements * Daily driving to multiple patient care locations within your assigned territory (typically up to 70 miles/day; mileage reimbursed for work-related travel) * Must maintain a reliable, insured vehicle in safe operating condition at all times * Able to walk, stand, bend, and perform bedside procedures for extended periods * Able to lift up to 25 pounds (equipment, supplies) * Must enter SNFs or homes that may lack ADA access or elevator service * Must document care using mobile technology (tablet, laptop) New York Compliance * Full Practice Authority: MDs and DOs may independently treat and prescribe within NY scope of practice * CME Requirement: At least 100 hours every two years, with specific mandates for infection control, opioid prescribing, and pain management (per NY State Education Department) * Controlled Substances: DEA registration and NY State Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (BNE) Controlled Substance License required if prescribing Schedules II–V * License Renewal: Biennial renewal via NYSED Office of the Professions Equal Opportunity Statement Omni Wound Physicians is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all New York labor, anti-discrimination, and equal pay laws.
