POSITION SUMMARY The Site Leads are a key part of the Camp Admin Team coordinating between Camp Admin, Camp Educators, caregivers, campers, and partners and must have excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills. There are two parts to this role: pre-camp (April 6-May 29) and during/post-camp (June 1-August 21). Pre-camp, this role will coordinate logistics (hiring, training, contract services, supply management, reports and systems setup) and assist in the development of daily schedules and camp planning. During camp, this role provides overall site management by leading the staff and day-to-day operations at their individual camp site (Thinkery). Post-camp, this role will oversee camp wrap-up, including closing out reports, returning supplies, and supporting any end-of-summer documentation or follow-up tasks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Oversee daily logistics across the camp location and support staff with educational and operational needs as they arise., • Supervise camp staff, including Assistant Site Lead, Camp Educators, and provide feedback and communication about staff performance., • Assists in recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training of all camp staff., • Work with educators and program coordinator to build weekly activity schedules and prioritize staff callouts, adjusting daily schedules accordingly and reaching out to Camp Admin when appropriate., • Be the first to respond to emergency situations and communicate as needed to the Admin Team., • Lead parent communications through daily/weekly emails, phone calls, and in-person communications during pickup and drop-off., • Create and run reports (attendance, medical forms, photo releases, aftercare, etc.)., • Support camper registration by communicating any needs to Reservations., • Sub into other Education Roles as needed on a day-by-day basis., • Ensure the Site is adhering to Thinkery’s healthy and safety protocols, in accordance with Local, State and Federal public safety guidelines., • Uphold camp content expectations in classroom, ensuring that educators are delivering quality content to campers. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES • Confirmed full availability for, • Pre-camp preparation: April 6 – May 22, • Camp Educator training: May 25 - 29, • Active camp program: June 1 – August 14, • Post-camp wrap-up: August 17 – 21, • Adaptability to problem-solve and multi-task in a fast-paced environment., • Ability to lead teams in inquiry based and social/emotional learning., • Spanish/English Bilingual Preferred., • Must be CPR certified or become certified within 1 month of hire (Thinkery will provide training). ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP • Reports to: Senior STEAM Educator, • Supervises: Camp Educators, Assistant Site Lead, • Supports: Thinkery Camps Minimum Qualifications • Experience leading diverse teams., • Experience with classroom and behavior management and supporting a diversity of learning styles in the same space., • Ability to uphold Educators to facilitation standards, ensuring the delivery of a quality program., • Organized with an eye for detail and excellent time management., • Familiarity with play-based learning practices in an informal setting., • High school diploma or equivalent experience., • Experience leading in an educational setting., • Experience teaching or leading a summer camp preferred., • Familiarity with Tessitura, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word., • Bilingual Spanish or American Sign Language is a plus.
