Job Description$125 Per Diem Automation Technician opportunity located on-site in Brownsville, TX!! Job Title: Controls Specialist Job Description Own and execute industrial automation projects while collaborating with engineers, specialists, and technicians from various groups. Develop and upgrade data acquisition and control systems, and provide technical support and guidance for controls technicians and other non-controls engineering groups. Responsibilities • Lead technicians and contractors efficiently., • Commission new hardware and perform continuous improvements for team processes, quality, faster build times, lower maintenance needs, project kitting, streamlined communication, and feedback loops., • Prioritize daily tasks and mitigate risks on current and upcoming projects., • Draft and redline drawings in electrical and fluids schematics., • Serve as a liaison between Tooling Engineering and Automation & Controls for controls hardware mounting and cable management., • Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMIs according to engineering design., • Analyze data to assess the function of electrical systems., • PLC programming, • Automation, • Electrical, • Process improvement, • Robotics, • Troubleshooting, • Quality assurance, • Risk analysis, • Programming, • AutoCAD, • Quality control, • Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 79, and UL508A codes., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Strong work ethic and drive to succeed in a high-functioning team., • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities and manage multiple priorities., • Knowledge of high-reliability processes and documentation practices., • Experience in programming PLCs and HMIs., • Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot data acquisition and control hardware., • Understanding of engineering principles behind electronic equipment and instrumentation., • Experience designing and installing instrumentation and control systems in hazardous areas., • Schematic capture and PCB design/verification experience., • Experience tuning PID controllers.
