Middle school ELA teachers are expected to build positive relationships with their students and also hold them to high expectations. They should manage their classes with positive proactive systems and strong rituals and routines. They are also expected to seek out more information and support from other staff members (the SIT team, admin, other grade level teachers etc.) if a student is not doing well either behaviorally or academically. At Highline we believe in a students first approach at all times, and the middle school teacher is the foundation of this work in the middle school. All teachers are expected to set up a class website and/or send home a regular newsletter about the work of the class, help create community by engaging their parents through inviting them to participate as volunteers or in class events (such as a potluck or an author celebration), and to build relationships with families through phone calls and both formal and informal meetings. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Grants Manager works proactively to manage multiple funding opportunities from public sources including federal, state and local government. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Grants Manager will provide project management oversight of assigned government funding efforts which include, but is not limited to, development and coordination of grant application opportunities, award contracting, compliance, reporting and monitoring, draw requests, record keeping, and department support. Typical Functions: • Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates and client deliverables., • Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources (such as product demonstrations, project tracking systems, interviews, emails, or phone calls) to document new or changing product functionality., • Manage documentation projects effectively to meet deadlines and quality standards., • Proactively escalate project issues, roadblocks, and scope changes as they occur., • Work with Actabl subject matter experts (SMEs) and other internal groups to develop and maintain documentation that meets established Actabl quality metrics., • Practice established documentation development and maintenance practices as set forth in the Actabl Corporate Communications Style Guide., • Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical users., • Provide editing support for all document types, as requested., • Maintain the library of application documentation, cataloging it for internal and/or external use., • Research changes to documentation and update existing documents, as required., • Solicit feedback for measuring documentation effectiveness., • Conduct user/task analysis to determine documentation requirements with direction from Manager/Lead., • Understand, support, and apply effective documentation development and maintenance practices, including the use and continuous improvement of stated processes, procedures, templates, and standards., • Perform peer reviews to ensure Actabl documentation is accurate, relevant, concise, easy to use, and conforms to style guide, writing standards, and Actabl quality metrics., • Effectively use established templates to create and publish documentation., • Develop documentation plan and development schedule for identified documentation projects., • Advise other departments on user interface and writing standards., • Proactively seek solutions to problems, reaching out to the appropriate resources to obtain a resolution., • Edit/Amend style guide as standards change and/or create style guide in the absence of one. Requirements:Unpacking What We’re Looking For Ideal Skills & Experience: • 2-4 years of proven experience as a technical writer for the software industry., • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is preferred; can be substituted for equivalent experience., • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams), as well as the Google Suite of products., • Communication: Communicate information effectively to customers, technical staff, managers, executives, sales and marketing teams., • Ability to adhere to standard technical communication processes., • Ability to apply the most appropriate technology for the documentation type., • Ability to understand information gathering, analysis, design, verification, and management practices and apply them effectively. Demonstrate information-gathering techniques and apply them to the software development life cycle., • Ability to arrange and classify multiple pieces of information effectively as well as restructure it for a better approach to problems or tasks., • Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and break down complex information into accessible concepts appropriate to the audience., • Observational: Use observation techniques to determine other sources of data for information gathering., • Data Modeling: Represent information in graphical forms that augments textual representations., • Must provide exemplary writing samples., • Ability to work in and manage ambiguity, including dealing effectively with issues that do not always have a process, system, or solution in place., • Ability to negotiate technical and end-user documentation priorities and resolve conflicts among project stakeholders., • Strong consultative skills and ability to make persuasive recommendations based on business rationale. Guided by a commitment to equity and collaboration, you will provide individualized instruction aligned with scholars' Individual Education Programs (IEPs), combining inclusion-based support and targeted interventions. As a case manager, you will lead the development and implementation of IEPs, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), leveraging a team-based approach and maintaining a relentless focus on growth. Required: Education Requirements: • Current Colorado teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s), • Special Education teachers must be certified in Colorado.
