The Role The Head of Operational Excellence will lead the transformation of our Services organisation toward consistent, predictable, efficient Operations in O&M. This role will work directly with regional O&M operations teams, engineering, HSQE, Control Centres, business finance and controlling and the SPMO to ensure our projects deliver planned margins, follow standardised processes, and continuously improve execution quality. This leader must bring deep, hands on wind operations experience and the ability to work credibly with site teams, technicians, and operational leaders. They will define, deploy, and embed the processes, KPIs, systems and behaviours needed to achieve Operational Excellence across our global Services business. The Key markets are LATAM, Europe and the UK. Key Responsibilities Drive Operational Transformation in O&M • Lead the definition and implementation of the global Operational Excellence framework for O&M (processes, standards, behaviours, KPIs, tools)., • Partner with Global O&M head, regional directors, business finance partners and the SPMO to prioritise, sequence, and deliver transformation initiatives., • Ensure OE work creates tangible improvements in availability, MTTR/MTBF, cost efficiency, schedule adherence, and margin protection. Standardise Processes & Systems • Lead global harmonisation of key O&M operational processes (e.g., work orders, planned maintenance, corrective response, site onboarding, major component replacement, reporting)., • Work closely with operational tools and systems (GMAO, MyApps, SAP, IFS), and IT teams to embed common processes and data standards., • Ensure regional adoption of standardised ways of working and reduce process variability. Build and Govern Operational Metrics • Review and improve our set of leading and lagging KPIs for operational performance, using reliable data from O&M systems., • Partner with I&S and Control Centre teams to support the development of the Services Master Database and global KPI dashboards., • Monitor performance trends, identify risks early, and drive targeted improvement actions. Strengthen Practices at Site Level • Spend meaningful time in the field with technicians, supervisors, and site managers to understand real operating constraints., • Ensure processes are practical, safe, efficient, and improving productivity., • Facilitate problem solving, rootcause analysis, and adoption of best practices across sites. Champion a Culture of Continuous Improvement • Drive relentless identification of inefficiencies and drive structured problem solving., • Build capability across the organisation through coaching, training, and method adoption (lean, process mapping, standard work)., • Promote operational discipline, cost awareness, and margin protection across all O&M teams., • Drive productivity initiatives in our operations to constantly seek more efficient and cost-effective methods. Partner Across the Services Organisation • Collaborate with HSQE to ensure operational changes support safety culture and compliance., • Work with Asset Management, Engineering, and Sales to align processes end‑to‑end., • Coordinate with SPMO on programme governance, prioritisation and progress tracking. Define and Embed Clear Roles, Responsibilities & Authority Across Operations • Lead a structured, global review of roles across O&M operations (site teams, planners, supervisors, technical support, engineering, control centres, service managers)., • Ensure that governance frameworks reflect real operational needs and empower teams to act quickly and effectively., • Partner with HSQE, Engineering, Control Centres, and SPMO to ensure each part of the organisation understands its contribution to safe, efficient, margin‑protecting delivery. Required Experience & Qualifications Essential • 10+ years Wind O&M experience, including site leadership, project management or operational delivery roles., • Demonstrated experience improving operational performance and transforming ways of working in a field‑based environment, ideally for projects in LATAM or European markets, • Strong process design, mapping and optimisation experience., • Proven ability to work across regions, cultures, and levels — from technicians to executives., • Strong understanding of operational cost drivers, work planning, and project margin management., • Fluency in English; other languages (Spanish, French, etc.) a plus. Desirable • Hands-on experience with O&M systems such as SCADA, GMAO/CMMS, MyApps, IFS, SAP or similar., • Experience in large‑scale O&M transformation programmes., • Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification., • Familiarity with Wind OEM operations (ex‑Vestas/Siemens/GE) appreciated.
