The opportunity We currently have an opportunity for a senior HR Business Partner role supporting leadership across Europe with dual accountability: strategic partnership to business functions and oversight of HR practices across France, Belgium, Netherlands and Spain. The role combines strategic influence with operational delivery to drive performance, engagement and organizational effectiveness. Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Strategic Business Partnership (Primary Accountability) • Partner closely with senior business leaders to shape across locations and deliver people strategies aligned with business objectives, • Provide coaching and constructive challenge on organisational design, team effectiveness, and leadership capability, • Translate business priorities into clear HR actions that support growth, performance, and transformation 1. Geographic HR Expertise (Continental Europe) • Act as a trusted advisor on employment frameworks and practices across France, Belgium, Netherlands, and Spain, supporting other HR Business Partners as required., • Ensure HR policies and decisions are locally compliant and culturally relevant, • Partner with Legal and local experts to manage regulatory risk and maintain best practice 1. Workforce Planning & Talent Strategy • Use HR data and business insight to support workforce planning and organisational design decisions, • Partner with Talent Acquisition to define hiring strategies aligned with business needs, • Drive a strong talent mindset, including succession planning and development of critical roles 1. Employee Relations & Risk Management • Lead and manage complex and sensitive employee relations matters across multiple jurisdictions, • Oversee investigations ensuring fair, compliant, and consistent outcomes, • Mitigate legal and reputational risks through sound judgement and close collaboration with Legal, • Support UK HR Business Partner on ER cases in Continental Europe as and when needed. 1. Performance & Reward • Lead performance management and ensure consistent application of compensation processes, • Coach leaders to differentiate performance and reward effectively, • Ensure alignment with broader compensation philosophy while adapting to local market needs 1. Change & Transformation • Support business transformation and organisational changes, • Design and deliver change management approaches that ensure adoption and minimise disruption, • Act as a key partner in building organisational capability and resilience 1. HR Governance & Process Excellence • Review and enhance HR policies alongside SME and processes to ensure compliance and efficiency, • Ensure operational excellence in HR delivery, including coordination with payroll providers and external partners, • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR practices across the region Team Contribution & Leadership • Act as a senior member of the HR team, providing guidance and mentoring to more junior colleagues, • Foster collaboration across HR and Centres of Expertise, • Lead regional or functional HR projects as required Key Skills & Capabilities • Strong business partnering and influencing skills at senior level, • Ability to operate across multiple countries and regulatory environments, • High level of judgement in complex, ambiguous situations, • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into action, • Clear, structured, and impactful communication (written and verbal), • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution, • Executive presence with the confidence and gravitas to engage, challenge and influence senior stakeholders, • Ability to clearly articulate complex ideas, strategies, and trade-offs in a concise and compelling manner Experience & Qualifications • Fluent English required (written and spoken), with the ability to operate effectively in an international business environment, • Significant HR experience (typically 10+ years), including a strong generalist background, • Proven experience within the insurance industry is required, with prior roles at a similar level of scope and seniority, • Strong preference for candidates with exposure to Specialty lines businesses, • Experience supporting international / multi-country environments, ideally across Continental Europe, • Strong knowledge of employment law and practices in at least one core market (France preferred), with exposure to others, • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior and executive stakeholders in complex organisations, • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or HR certification preferred Why choose Intact We live our Values: We are committed to acting with the highest of ethical standards through our five core values: integrity, respect, customer driven, excellence and social responsibility.
