About the Role This position is part of the EthiFinance Analytics department. We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated expert in (extra-)financial modeling and data to join our Financial and Extra-Financial Services team. You will develop models, build expertise on various topics (financial risks, climate and biodiversity-related risks, social risks), design solutions for financial institutions, and contribute to integrating ESG topics into finance and credit rating methodologies. Main missions: • Update, build, and improve quantitative financial and environmental models for financial institutions and corporates., • Support research, methodology, product, and sales teams by ensuring efficient and reliable models and tools., • Design and deliver training on financial and extra-financial topics. Key Responsibilities • Asset-based risk modeling for physical climate hazards (drought, floods, etc.) and biodiversity-related risks., • Data exploration to identify additional sources for environmental analysis (resource use, circular economy) and assess risks and opportunities., • Sensitivity analysis of environmental risk impacts on assets and economic activities., • Transmission channel study between environmental risks and the economy (transition risks toward sustainability, physical risks affecting assets and supply chains)., • Integration of extra-financial risks (ESG, climate, biodiversity) into credit risk methodologies., • Model updates and improvements for existing tools (nature risk models, carbon emissions modeling, temperature trajectories, stress-testing) using Excel and Python., • Tool development to ensure model quality and reliability., • Scientific writing for publications and methodological documents., • Programming of tools in Git. What You’ll Bring Education & Experience • PhD in Sciences (Economics, Finance, Climatology, Environmental Sciences) or other relevant fields., • Strong interest in environmental topics (climate and biodiversity)., • First experience in a role related to financial and/or environmental topics is an advantage. Skills Programming: • Required: Solid knowledge of Python, data science, and spatial data manipulation., • Nice to have: Machine learning, GIS tools, numerical modeling and simulation techniques relevant to geoscience research., • Required: Ability to write scientific papers and provide methodological support., • Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit., • Ability to work independently in an organized and efficient manner., • Adaptability to interact with diverse profiles., • Initiative and creativity to propose new ideas., • Positive mindset, collaborative approach, and strong convictions (excellence, shared values, mutual support, environmental commitment).
