First Point Group is recruiting for a Transformation Director (Telecoms BSS ICT) on behalf of a global technology leader with an established history of working in the technology and telecom domain. The successful candidate will have a blended expertise of ICT Solution Architecture (Middlware, API gateways, Microservices) and Program Leadership. This is an exciting full-time permanent opportunity to lead a large-scale transformation program (legacy to open-Cloud systems) for another global brand and tier-1 operator. As the spearhead of this program delivery, you will have strong ICT middleware experience, C-Level customer management, ICT solution architecture experience and some understanding of telecom BSS / OSS networks. Visa sponsorship can be considered for FLUENT French Speakers only due to French language skills being a mandatory requirement for these projects. THE OPPORTUNITY This is a high-impact leadership role where you will drive complex, large-scale transformation programmes within cloud-based telecom environments. You will operate at the intersection of technology, commercial delivery, and customer engagement—working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver mission-critical billing and operational systems. You will act as a trusted partner to the client, ensuring successful programme delivery while identifying opportunities to enhance value, optimise performance, and strengthen long-term relationships. JOB DESCRIPTION Programme Delivery & Leadership • Lead multiple large-scale ICT programmes in relation to BSS/OSS (billing, charging, mediation, order management) whilst providing guidance on ICT middleware / API gateways / Microservices, • Own full delivery lifecycle across scope, timelines, cost, and quality, • Establish programme structures, governance, and delivery frameworks, • Manage risks, issues, and dependencies across complex environments, • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level stakeholders (IT, Engineering, Finance, Marketing), • Act as a senior escalation point and trusted advisor to the customer, • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and successful contract delivery, • Manage programme financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, • Ensure contract fulfilment and alignment with commercial objectives, • Manage third-party vendors and subcontractors across the full programme lifecycle, • Negotiate and oversee vendor contracts to ensure cost efficiency and service quality, • Monitor vendor performance against SLAs, KPIs, and contractual obligations, • Lead cross-functional, global teams in complex delivery environments, • Mentor and develop project teams to drive high performance, • Foster a collaborative and delivery-focused culture across stakeholders Requirements • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, • 10+ years’ experience in programme/project management within telecom or ICT, • Proven experience delivering large-scale transformation programmes ($10M+), • Some understanding / experience of Telecom BSS/OSS systems, including billing, charging, and mediation, • Strong experience in systems integration and multi-vendor programme delivery, • Deep understanding of middleware and integration architecture, for example - API gateways (e.g. Broadcom Inc. Layer7, Apigee, MuleSoft), Event-driven architecture (e.g. Kafka), Enterprise integration / ESB, • Experience transforming legacy systems into - Open, API-driven architectures, Java-based microservices environments, • Strong exposure to cloud and infrastructure modernisation, including - OpenStack, Kubernetes, Hybrid / private / public cloud environments., • Demonstrable experience leading complex migration programmes (legacy → cloud-native), • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with exposure to C-level engagement, • PMP certification (or equivalent) preferred, • Fluency in French – MANDATORY, • Good English Desirable Experience • Experience working in global, matrixed organisations, • Knowledge of ITIL, eTOM, and telecom delivery frameworks, • Exposure to telecom vendor / consultancy environments are a massive bonus, • MBA or leadership training (advantageous)
