Summary: Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled & experienced Infrastructure Architect specializing in Red Hat OpenShift to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of our containerized infrastructure. You will be the technical authority responsible for building resilient, scalable, and secure enterprise-grade platforms that empower our development teams. You will be responsible for delivery of complex enterprise infrastructure projects, on public clouds, private clouds, and hybrid in support of HCL Software’s Cloud Products. You will design, deploy, deliver, test, and document highly available, mission critical infrastructure in a variety of cloud deployment models compliant with both customer, system, IT, and security requirements. Key Responsibilities • Architecture Design: Lead the high-level and low-level design of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters across hybrid cloud environments (On-prem, AWS, Azure, or GCP)., • Cluster Implementation: Deploy and manage production-grade OpenShift clusters, focusing on Control Plane stability, worker node scaling, and multi-tenancy., • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate the provisioning of underlying infrastructure and OpenShift configurations to ensure repeatable and consistent environments., • Security & Compliance: Implement & Secure-by-Design principles using Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Network Policies, and automated vulnerability scanning., • Operations & Performance: Optimize cluster performance, manage resource quotas/limits, and design robust backup/disaster recovery strategies., • Mentorship: Act as a subject matter expert (SME), guiding DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams on best practices for container orchestration. Technical Requirements and Core Concepts As an Architect, you will be expected to demonstrate deep expertise in the following areas: 1. Red Hat OpenShift Ecosystem • Core Components: Expertise in OCP 4.x architecture, including Ignition, Machine Config Operator (MCO), and Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM)., • Networking: Deep understanding of OpenShift SDN (OVS), OVN-Kubernetes, Ingress Controllers (Routes), and Service Mesh (Istio)., • Storage: Implementation of Persistent Volumes (PVs) using CSI (Container, • Storage Interface) and Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF). 1. Design & Implementation Tools • Provisioning: Experience with Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, or CloudFormation., • GitOps: Implementing continuous delivery using ArgoCD or Red Hat OpenShift GitOps., • Registry: Managing enterprise container registries such as Quay or Artifactory. 1. Operations & Observability • Monitoring: Mastery of the built-in OpenShift monitoring stack (Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager)., • Logging: Centralized log management using the EFK/ELO stack (Elasticsearch, Fluentd/Loki, Kibana)., • Security Tools: Hands-on experience with Advanced Cluster Management (ACM) and Advanced Cluster Security (ACS/StackRox). Required Qualifications • Experience: 15+ years in IT infrastructure, with at least 4+ years specifically focused on Red Hat OpenShift architecture., • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field., • Certifications (Preferred): * Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration/Architecture., • Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)., • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA). Preferred Skills • Strong understanding of Linux internals (CoreOS, RHEL)., • Experience with hybrid-cloud connectivity (DirectConnect, ExpressRoute, VPN)., • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or Go).
