For more information visit satport.com or contact via email: SatPort, Civil Structural Engineer: Satport is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to design and deliver ground network infrastructure supporting satellite and communications operations in GEO, MEO and LEO orbits. The role focuses on antenna foundations, equipment bases, cable routes, buried services, utility infrastructure, and associated civil works within secure, mission-critical environments. The successful candidate will develop safe, resilient, and high-availability structural solutions, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure infrastructure meets operational, regulatory, and program requirements. Strong technical capability combined with practical site experience in the SatCom world is essential. Key Responsibilities: • Design and analyse structural systems including, foundations, steel and concrete structures, retaining systems, and industrial facilities for complex builds., • Prepare structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports, and review contract submittals, including geotechnical reports, finite element models, calculation packages, construction drawings, materials, and related procedures to ensure project quality and compliance., • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and inspections, • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations, • Coordinate with architects, geotechnical engineers, central CTO/COO teams and project managers, • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and method statements and provide technical support during construction, including resolving site issues, • Monitor structural quality, materials, and workmanship, • Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation measures, • Support project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling, • Participate in value engineering and design optimization initiatives, • Maintain documentation and ensure adherence to project timelines Essential Knowledge & Skills: • Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design for steel, reinforced concrete, and composite structures, • Proven experience in ground infrastructure, especially during the build phase of the program (e.g., heavy foundations, equipment supports, utilities), • Familiarity with geotechnical considerations and soil–structure interaction and an understanding of seismic, wind, and dynamic load design principles, • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or BIM tools, • Thorough understanding of international and/or regional design codes (e.g., IS, Eurocodes, ACI, AISC, BS), • Knowledge of construction practices, safety standards, and quality control procedures, • Strong leadership skills to motivate, coordinate and guide multidisciplinary engineering and site teams to successful outcomes, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with contractors, consultants, clients, and internal stakeholders., • Proven ability to resolve conflicts, negotiate solutions, and make sound decisions under schedule and site pressures., • Highly organised with strong planning skills to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and sustain delivery in fast-paced environments., • This role is based in Paris and requires occasional travelling.
