About the Role We are seeking committed and flexible Residential Support Worker's to join our family-run children’s service, supporting young people aged 14–17. This role involves working closely with children who may present with challenging behaviours, providing consistent, trauma-informed care within a safe and structured environment. You will work as part of a 2:1 staffing ratio, allowing you to build meaningful relationships and provide tailored support that meets each young person’s individual needs. Key Responsibilities • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, • Support daily routines, structure and emotional wellbeing, • Engage young people in activities, education and personal development, • Manage and respond to challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner, • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a safe and supportive environment, • Promote independence, life skills and positive outcomes Shift Patterns • 36 hours per week (typically 3 shifts), • Day shifts: 8:00am – 8:00pm, • Night shifts: 8:00pm – 8:00am, • Flexibility is essential (preferences can be considered, but a mix of days and nights is required) Requirements • A calm, patient and resilient nature, • Ability to engage effectively with young people and build strong relationships, • Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a professional and supportive manner, • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, • Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people (residential care, schools, youth work, SEN, family support or similar), • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) What We Offer • Full training, including restraint and physical intervention, • Opportunity to complete the Level 3 Children’s Residential qualification, • Clear progression pathways into Senior and higher roles upon qualification, • Monthly Employee of the Month recognition, • Supportive, family-run business with a strong team culture, • Ongoing training and development opportunities If you are passionate about supporting young people and want to grow within a rewarding and supportive environment, we would love to hear from you.
