About the Role: This is a role within the Castrol organisation and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership. Castrol is looking for a highly skilled and commercially minded FP&A Advisor, Investments to own and support the day-to-day operation, “silent running” of the Castrol investment governance process, ensuring consistency and effectiveness. Sitting at the centre of Castrol’s investment governance, this role provides independent financial insight, challenge, and assurance across material investment decisions. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, influencing executive and Board discussions by translating complex financial models into clear, decision-ready insight. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a $1.2bn EBITDA global business, driving disciplined capital allocation and supporting Castrol’s “Onward, Upward, Forward” strategy Lead the review and assurance of investment cases, ensuring alignment with governance standards and policies Provide independent challenge to investment proposals, strengthening the quality of decision-making Analyse and validate economic and financial models, ensuring robust assumptions and outputs Prepare executive and Board-level briefs, distilling complex data into clear insights Maintain a forward-looking investment pipeline and executive “lookahead,” supporting prioritisation, planning, and decision-making. Support the design, rollout, and continuous improvement of investment governance frameworks Enable the organisation’s readiness for new capital allocation approaches Actively build organisational capability by coaching and training finance and business partners on investment frameworks and procedures. Partner with global teams to ensure investment decisions are balanced, transparent, and value-driven Build strong networks across regions and functions, supporting consistent delivery and capability uplift This is a senior individual contributor role requiring significant experience and credibility to influence executive and Board-level partners. Significant experience in commercial finance / FP&A Proven track record in investment appraisal, capital allocation, or business case evaluation Strong capability in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis Experience engaging and influencing senior partners and decision-makers Advanced economic and financial modelling expertise Strong ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) Commercially astute with the ability to challenge constructively and contribute Confident working in ambiguous, fast-paced, and evolving environments Strong partner management and relationship-building skills across global teams Ability to operate independently while influencing without authority Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or similar Professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred Experience in investment management and reporting Strong business acumen within a commercial environment Travel Requirement Negligible travel should be expected with this role Relocation Assistance: This role is not eligible for relocation Remote Type: This position is a hybrid of office/remote working Skills: Analysis and modelling, Commercial Acumen, Communication, Corporate Finance, Economic evaluation methodology, Financial Reporting, Influencing, Investment appraisal, Market Analysis, Regional perspective, Stakeholder Engagement Legal Disclaimer: We are an equal opportunity employer.
