About vcomerz and M2R2 LTD vcomerz, a product of M2R2 LTD, is a no-code e-commerce and POS SaaS platform revolutionizing retail by empowering businesses with seamless online-to-store workflows. We’re looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join our team and ensure our infrastructure runs smoothly as we scale. Job Overview We are seeking a reliable, Midlands based DevOps Engineer to join vcomerz on a full time basis and is flexible for a Hybrid Work Set up. You will manage our infrastructure across three servers (development, beta, and production), with our production server hosted on AWS and additional projects running on GCP and Azure. This role requires minimum 36 hours per week, spread across 7 days a week, and demands a candidate who can commute to our Derby office consistently. We prioritize recent postgraduates with 5 years of experience who are passionate about building scalable, secure systems for a retail SaaS platform. Key Responsibilities • Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain vcomerz’s three servers (dev, beta, prod), ensuring high availability, performance, and security., • Cloud Operations: Manage our production server on AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS), with additional responsibilities for projects on GCP and Azure., • CI/CD Pipelines: Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins) for vcomerz’s deployments, ensuring smooth rollouts across environments., • Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor system performance (e.g., using CloudWatch, Prometheus) and respond to incidents, minimizing downtime for retailers during peak events like Black Friday., • Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices (e.g., IAM roles, encryption) and ensure compliance with GDPR for vcomerz user data., • Collaboration: Work closely with our Backend and Front End Developers to support deployments, troubleshoot issues, and improve infrastructure., • Automation: Automate repetitive tasks (e.g., using Terraform, Ansible) to enhance efficiency across vcomerz’s environments., • Experience: 5 years of DevOps experience, with a strong track record in cloud infrastructure management., • Education: Recent postgraduate degree (e.g., MSc in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, or related field) preferred., • Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, ELB), with familiarity in GCP and Azure., • CI/CD Tools: Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)., • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for provisioning infrastructure., • Monitoring: Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure system health., • Scripting: Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar for automation., • Security: Understanding of security best practices (e.g., IAM, encryption, firewalls) and GDPR compliance., • Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for scaling vcomerz’s services., • Familiarity with retail SaaS platforms and their unique demands (e.g., high availability during sales events)., • Knowledge of PostgreSQL (used in vcomerz’s backend) for database-related DevOps tasks., • Impactful Work: Play a key role in scaling vcomerz, a platform that empowers retailers globally., • Flexible Schedule: The work hours are completely flexible as far as the servers are up and running., • Startup Environment: Join a dynamic, innovative team at M2R2 LTD with opportunities to grow., • Competitive Pay: We are offering up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience along with company shares To apply, please submit your CV and a cover letter detailing your experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure, as well as your ability to commute reliably to Derby, UK.
