Event Crew Driver & Games Operator Location: East London Pay: £15–£16.50 per hour depending on experience Higher rate: Available for experienced event crew who can lead jobs independently Contract: Full-time / part-time / casual / seasonal Hours: Events-based work including mostly weekdays but also weekends, evenings, early starts and occasional late finishes Vehicle: Long wheelbase van, not HGV About the role We are looking for a reliable, practical and enthusiastic person to join our events team as an Event Crew Driver & Games Operator. This is not just a driving job. You will help deliver games and event equipment to venues, load and unload vans, set up equipment, make sure everything looks professional, stay on site when required, help run games or equipment during the event, and then pack everything down at the end. The role would suit someone who enjoys events, likes hands-on work, is confident speaking to people, and takes pride in helping create a good experience for guests and clients. What you will be doing Your main duties will include: • Driving a long wheelbase van to and from event venues, • Loading and unloading event equipment, • Setting up games, activities and event equipment on site, • Checking equipment is clean, presentable, safe and ready to use, • Speaking with clients, venue staff and guests in a professional way, • Staying on site at some events to operate games or assist guests, • Explaining how games or equipment work, • Keeping the event area tidy and well-presented, • Solving small issues on site calmly and sensibly, • Packing down after events, • Returning equipment to base and unloading after the job You will often be the face of the company on site, so reliability, attitude and presentation are very important. What we are looking for We are looking for someone who is: • Reliable, punctual and organised, • Confident driving a long wheelbase van, • Comfortable with physical work, loading and unloading, • Practical and good at problem-solving, • Friendly, polite and presentable, • Comfortable speaking with clients, guests and venue staff, • Interested in events, not just driving, • Happy working weekends, evenings, early starts and occasional late finishes, • Able to work independently once trained, • Calm under pressure when things change on siteEssential requirements You must have: • Full UK driving licence, • Experience driving vans or confidence driving a long wheelbase van, • Ability to safely lift, move and set up event equipment, • Good spoken English and customer-facing communication skills, • Availability for weekend and event-based work, • A professional attitude when representing the company, • The right to work in the UKDesirable experience Experience in any of the following would be useful: • Events, • Weddings, • Festivals, • Corporate events, • Hospitality, • Entertainment, • AV or production, • Marquee work, • Venue work, • Sports or leisure activities, • Delivery work involving setup, not just drop-off, • Customer-facing roles Previous event experience is preferred, but attitude is just as important. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of events and is happy to get stuck in. Pay Pay is £15–£16.50 per hour, depending on experience. Higher rates are available for someone who can lead jobs independently, deal with clients on site, solve problems and take responsibility for event delivery. You are paid from arrival at base through to return, unload and finish. Important Please only apply if you are looking for a hands-on events role.
