Job Title: Business Development Executive – Wholesale & Territory Reseller Channel Location: Bourne End, Buckinghamshire (Office-based in Bourne End 2-3 days per week, Field-based 2-3 days per week) Reports to: Head of Channel - Wholesale & Education Channel About the Role We’re looking for a driven, energetic, and commercially minded Business Development Executive to join our dynamic sales team, focusing on the Wholesale & Territory Reseller Channel. This part field, part office role, will suit an energetic, innovative go getter who thrives on making a difference. You’ll take ownership of your accounts including the wider planning of the territory with collaboration and support from the Head of Channel to provide a Channel wide strategic Sales & Marketing plan. All areas including resellers, buying groups & wholesalers are to be considered a focus and all routes to market including - Physical visits 2 or 3 days a week, UK wide, accompanying 2 or 3 days in the office focusing on internal account management. Responsibilities of the Business Development Executive will also include out bound sales calls to an established and new customer base, proactive ownership of the sales portal customer base for internal sales and general support and development to the wider channel where required. Developing and delivering joint business plans, ensuring sales and profitability targets are met or exceeded is a key focus in this adaptive role. Whilst tight planning and supporting the Head a Channel is key, your own autonomy in the structure of the channel must be a key driver. You’ll also play a key supporting role within the broader sales team, helping to execute administrative and operational tasks that keep our commercial function running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Growth • Manage a country wide portfolio of customers that included high street and online resellers, in the field and via our other routes to market., • Own the full P&L responsibility for assigned accounts - ensuring delivery of sales, profit and budget expectations., • Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with Head of Channel and deliver to customers in person, phone and via Portal to drive mutual growth., • Where needed, negotiate commercial terms, pricing, promotions, and annual agreements., • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, marketing initiatives, and incremental revenue streams across the Territory base., • Present business proposals, category insights, and innovation plans to customers and colleagues with confidence and clarity across a variety of business types. Collaboration & Internal Support • Work closely with senior members of the sales team to support wider business goals., • Handle key admin tasks such Sales portal monitoring, as new line forms, sample management, and maintaining accurate customer data., • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure smooth customer execution., • Exercise strong Excel & power point knowledge where needed to communicate both internally and externally Reporting & Planning • Execute effective journey planning and call frequency both physically and internal outbound calls to maximise effectiveness., • Monitor and report on account performance and efficiency, sales forecasts, and promotional effectiveness., • Analyse data to identify growth opportunities or risks, recommending action plans to address them across a variety of customer types., • Contribute ideas and insights to the sales strategy, supporting continuous improvement. You will have: • 1–3 years’ experience in account management, ideally within the wholesale channel combined with independent resellers experience in consumer goods., • Excels on creating strong and lasting relationships, • Strong commercial acumen and confidence managing budgets or P&L elements., • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (data analysis, reporting) and PowerPoint (presentation), • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills., • An energetic, positive and enthusiastic attitude - someone who takes initiative., • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, comfortable juggling multiple priorities., • A willingness to travel nationally and spend nights away from home across a large territory whilst also combining internal sales tasks from our Bourne End Buckinghamshire office., • Ambition to learn, grow, and progress within the sales function.
