Management Accountant (Part-Time) Location: BasildonWorking Pattern: 3 days per week (approximately 30 hours)Salary: £45,000 – £48,000 FTE (negotiable, depending on experience) The Role We are seeking a hands-on Management Accountant to take ownership of the management accounts function within a growing SME environment. This is a part-time role based in Basildon, offering flexibility across three days per week and the opportunity to make a tangible commercial impact. Key Responsibilities • Preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements, • Full responsibility for the month-end close process, covering journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations, • Completion of variance analysis with clear, concise commentary and actionable business insights, • Production of short-term and rolling 12-month cash flow forecasts, • Detailed financial analysis across:, • Product margins and profitability, • Sales performance versus purchasing trends, • Stock and inventory levels and movements, • Support with budgeting and forecasting activities, • Creation and maintenance of KPI dashboards and board-level reporting, • Ongoing monitoring of:, • Aged debt, • Working capital, including stock, debtors and creditors, • Act as a key point of contact for external accountants and auditors, • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process efficiency improvements, • Oversight of VAT reporting and compliance, • Strong, proven experience preparing management accounts independently, • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and data analysis, • Experience working with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, • Solid understanding of:, • Stock and inventory accounting, • Margin analysis, • Cash flow management, • Commercially minded, with the ability to turn financial data into meaningful insight, • 3–5 years’ experience in a similar management accounting role, • Experience within an SME environment, • Background in a stock-based or distribution-led business is preferred, • Essential:, • AAT Level 3 or Level 4, • Desirable:
