Data Product Owner Location: Warwick, UK (Onsite) Duration: June 2026 – December 2026 Engagement Type: Contract (Inside IR35) Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Product Owner to lead the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise data products within a large-scale digital transformation programme. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and Agile delivery teams to define product vision, manage priorities, and ensure data products deliver measurable business value. This role requires a strong blend of product ownership, business analysis, and data platform expertise, helping to drive data-driven decision-making and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities • Define and manage the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for data products., • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products from discovery and requirements gathering through deployment and continuous improvement., • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand objectives, operational challenges, and user needs., • Translate business requirements into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria., • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and business value., • Work closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Architects, Analysts, and Agile delivery teams to successfully execute the roadmap., • Support the design and evolution of data products within modern data ecosystems, including Data Fabric and cloud-based data platforms., • Ensure data products are governed with clear ownership, quality standards, metadata, lineage, and measurable outcomes., • Facilitate workshops, backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and stakeholder demonstrations., • Coordinate testing, validation, business acceptance, and production readiness activities., • Support release planning, implementation, and operational adoption of delivered solutions., • Monitor product performance, user feedback, and business outcomes to drive continuous enhancements., • Maintain product documentation including requirements, process flows, release notes, operating procedures, and stakeholder communications., • Promote data-driven decision-making through trusted, accessible, and actionable data products. Required Experience • 12+ years of experience as a Data Product Owner, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Technical Product Manager, or Solution Architect., • Proven experience delivering data-driven solutions within Utilities, Energy, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Smart Cities, Infrastructure, or other asset-intensive industries., • Strong experience defining product roadmaps and managing complex data products., • Experience working with Data Products, Data Fabric architectures, and modern cloud-based data platforms., • Proven track record of requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and production delivery., • Hands-on experience working within Agile environments using Scrum and/or SAFe methodologies., • Strong backlog management, prioritization, and delivery planning experience. Technical Skills • Knowledge of Digital Twin concepts and Digital Twins Definition Language (DTDL)., • Deep familiarity with modern data stacks, cloud platforms, edge computing, IoT ecosystems, and data visualization tools., • Experience with data streaming platforms, time-series data, ETL/ELT pipelines, and real-time data integration., • Understanding of AI/ML-driven predictive analytics and advanced analytics solutions., • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data lineage practices., • Experience using Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile delivery tools. Preferred Experience • Experience within utilities, energy, infrastructure, engineering, transportation, or large-scale enterprise environments., • Knowledge of asset management, operational technology (OT), engineering systems, or network operations., • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills., • Ability to bridge business and technical teams and translate complex requirements into successful outcomes.
