Central Recruitment is currently working with a local authority dedicated to preventing people from becoming homeless and supporting individuals in finding long-term, affordable and sustainable housing.\n\nOur client is currently recruiting for a Project Worker to work in the Ilford area at a service that provides supported housing accommodation to clients with complex needs and a history of rough sleeping.\n\n * 37.5 hours per week\n\n * Monday - Sunday (rota basis)\n\n * Shifts: 08:00 - 16:00 and 14:00 - 22:00\n\n * Temporary: approx. 2-3 months, with the possibility of extension\n\n * £17.76 per hour (£15.85 per hour, with £1.91 holiday pay)\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact in the lives of adults with a history of homelessness.\n\nKey responsibilities\n\n * Hold a caseload of 8-9 key clients and carry out key working responsibilities\n\n * Complete comprehensive needs and risk assessments, risk management and support plans\n\n * Ensure the building is free of any slips and trips meeting Health and Safety requirements\n\n * Ensure new clients are made to feel comfortable and are given appropriate information\n\n * Carry out weekly/daily flat inspections for the residents at the service\n\n * Interview and assess referrals to ensure the criteria is met\n\n * Support clients to identify opportunities for move-on and make appropriate referrals\n\n * Work with clients to identify activities that they would like to take part in\n\n * Run activities in response to client needs\n\n * Ensure safeguarding and addressing immediate needs are paramount to service delivery\n\n * Complete incident reports and raise to hostel manager\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\n\n * Experience working with complex needs and homelessness in a hostel environment\n\n * Experience holding a high need caseload\n\n * Experience completing needs and risk assessments and support plans\n\n * Strong understanding of complex needs including, mental and physical ill-health, substance misuse, self-harm, anger management, learning impairment\n\n * Understanding of the Strengths and Recovery model and PIE\n\n * Experience identifying risk and understanding of safeguarding procedures\n\n * Experience with housing management including monitoring rent payments\n\n * Ability to work intensively with clients, respond to crisis and deal effectively to challenging situations\n\n * IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office programmes and database recording systems\n\nFurther requirements:\n\nIn order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:\n\n * Current valid right to work in the UK\n\n Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)\n\n * A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)\n\n * Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process\n\nHow to apply:\n\nIf you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration.\n\n*Please note the outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria, and we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position
