Role Overview As an Assistant Manager at JD Sports, you are a key force behind your store’s success. You support from the front — motivating your team, driving performance alongside the Store Manager, and ensuring every shift delivers strong results. You help inspire your people to excel, uphold high standards, and move the store toward ambitious sales targets and operational excellence. This role is all about confident leadership, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to elevate your team so the store achieves outstanding success together. Key Responsibilities • Support the Store Manager with daily store operations to help achieve sales targets and core KPIs., • Lead and guide colleagues on the shop floor, allocating tasks, supporting service delivery, and maintaining JD standards throughout the day., • Assist with coaching and development, offering real-time feedback and reinforcing expectations set by the Store Manager., • Maintain JD’s high presentation and operational standards, including availability, pricing accuracy, tidy displays, and a safe environment., • Carry out core operational duties such as cash handling support, till checks, delivery processing, stock audits, and opening/closing routines — escalating issues appropriately. Skills & Experience Required • Previous experience in a retail management or supervisory role, such as Assistant Store Manager or Supervisor, demonstrating readiness to support leadership., • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, develop, and motivate staff while reinforcing store priorities., • Confident interpreting KPI and sales data to support commercial decision-making and shift focus., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, supporting colleagues and ensuring professional customer interactions., • Proven success driving sales performance and contributing to KPI achievement in a retail environment.     Experienced Document Controller We Are BAU Group St Albans, Hertfordshire £33,000–£37,000 per year, depending on experience Full-time | Permanent | Hybrid working available Join a Growing M&E Contractor We Are BAU Group is an established and growing Mechanical & Electrical contractor delivering projects across London and the South East. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and proactive Document Controller to join our team and support multiple live projects. This is a key role within the business, working closely with our Project Managers, Design Team, clients, consultants and subcontractors to ensure project information is accurate, controlled, distributed correctly and followed through. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their role, uses their own initiative and keeps the wider project team informed. This is not a position where you will simply wait to be given tasks. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years' relevant Document Controller experience within the construction, engineering or M&E industry. The Role As our Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing project documentation from receipt through to project completion across several live projects. A key part of this role is being proactive. When drawings, technical information, approvals, comments, correspondence or other project documents are received, you will be expected to identify whether action is required, notify the appropriate member of the project team and follow the matter through. Key Responsibilities • Manage project documentation from receipt through to completion., • Monitor incoming drawings, technical documents, correspondence and project information., • Identify actions arising from incoming information and promptly notify the relevant Project Manager or team member., • Maintain accurate and up-to-date document and drawing registers., • Issue drawings, specifications, technical submissions and other project documentation., • Manage document revisions and version control., • Ensure superseded information is clearly identified and removed from circulation., • Manage document workflows, reviews, approvals and returns., • Proactively chase outstanding drawings, approvals, comments and information., • Highlight missing information, potential issues and approaching deadlines., • Keep Project Managers and the wider team informed of important project updates., • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams., • Manage and prioritise document control requirements across multiple live projects., • Produce and coordinate project handover documentation and O&M Manuals., • Attend site and project meetings as required, typically at least once per week., • Ensure actions and document requirements arising from meetings are followed through promptly., • Help improve and develop BAU's document-control procedures as the business continues to grow. What We Are Looking For • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Document Controller., • Previous experience within construction, engineering or M&E., • Experience using document-management systems such as Viewpoint, Procore, Asite, Aconex, SharePoint or similar., • Strong understanding of document-control procedures, drawing registers, revisions and version control., • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel., • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail., • Ability to manage several projects and competing priorities., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Confidence to contact and chase Project Managers and other team members when action is required., • Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively., • A proactive approach and confidence to use your own initiative., • Ability to recognise when something needs action without waiting to be instructed., • Someone who takes ownership of tasks and follows them through to completion. We are not looking for someone who simply waits to be given tasks. We need someone who actively manages their responsibilities, recognises when something needs attention and keeps the wider project team informed. Desirable Experience • Experience producing O&M Manuals., • Previous experience working for an M&E contractor or main contractor., • Knowledge of construction handover procedures and project close-out documentation., • Experience supporting several live construction projects simultaneously.
