The Role This position is centred around menu development and client tastings, working closely with the Executive Chef and senior team to evolve the companys food offering and ensure it remains innovative, commercially viable, and operationally deliverable. You will be responsible for organising, preparing, and presenting menu tastings, often acting as a culinary ambassador for the business. The role requires excellent cooking skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate confidently with clients about food, ingredients, and concepts. Events and tastings are primarily weekday-based, making this a predominantly MondayFriday role , with occasional weekend work depending on business needs. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality client menu tastings to an exceptional standard Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and Head Chef on menu creation and development Test, refine, and document new dishes, ensuring they are scalable and suitable for event delivery Source and trial new ingredients, suppliers, and products in line with seasonal availability Present food confidently to clients, explaining concepts, flavours, and execution Ensure all tastings and development work align with brand standards, budgets, and operational capabilities Maintain excellent organisation of tasting schedules, prep lists, and kitchen workflow Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety Support live events when required to ensure new menus are executed consistently About You Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous, ideally within events, banqueting, or high-end hospitality A genuine passion for food, trends, and continuous culinary improvement Strong technical cooking skills and a creative approach to menu development Confident, professional, and comfortable engaging directly with clients Commercially aware, with an understanding of costings and portion control Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tastings and deadlines Flexible and team-oriented, with a proactive and positive attitude Whats on Offer A creative, development-focused role within a respected London event catering business Predominantly MondayFriday working pattern, offering improved work-life balance The opportunity to influence menus and food direction across a wide range of events Career development within a growing and forward-thinking organisation Competitive salary and a supportive, professional kitchen environment We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
