Elevation Recruitment Group's Engineering Services Division are supporting a long standing client to recruit a Mechanical Fitter as part of the expansion of their Field Based Site Services Team.The Site Services Team supports their established client base with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical materials handling systems at customer sites across the UK, ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally, and in full compliance with UK health and safety legislation, company policies, and customer requirements.The Mechanical Fitter will also have the opportunity to develop to Team Leader level over the next 12 months.Key Responsibilities and Core Duties for the Mechanical Fitter include: • Install, maintain, and repair materials handling systems, including chains, conveyors, sprockets, bearings, valves, and associated mechanical equipment, • Provide on-site mechanical support to customers, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs in line with agreed Service Level Agreements, • Work from engineering drawings, identifying discrepancies, changes, or omissions, and feeding these back to enable drawing updates, • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline), • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a heavy engineering or industrial environment, • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills, • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, • A proactive, solution-focused approach to work
