    As a Root & Nest Family Lifestyle Assistant, you'll provide practical, day-to-day support that helps family life run smoothly. Every assignment is different, offering varied and rewarding work in welcoming private homes. Depending on the family you are matched with, your responsibilities may include one or more of the following. Key Responsibilities Family Support • Supporting busy households with everyday routines., • School and nursery drop-offs and pick-ups., • Supervising children before and after school., • Planning engaging age-appropriate activities., • Encouraging outdoor play and learning., • Helping establish calm and consistent routines. Meal Preparation • Preparing healthy family meals., • Batch cooking for the week ahead., • Preparing lunchboxes and nutritious snacks., • Following dietary requirements and allergies., • Maintaining high food hygiene standards. Household Organisation • Organising kitchens and pantries., • Grocery shopping and household errands., • Laundry folding and wardrobe organisation., • Resetting shared family spaces., • Supporting home organisation projects., • Creating practical systems that reduce stress for families. Kitchen Garden Support Where requested by clients, you may also assist with: • Planting seasonal vegetables and herbs., • Watering and maintaining raised beds., • Harvesting home-grown produce., • Supporting children with gardening activities., • Transplanting seedlings grown by the Root & Nest team., • Encouraging healthy, sustainable living through food growing. No gardening experience is required—we provide guidance and training. About You You're someone who naturally notices what needs doing before being asked. You enjoy helping people and find satisfaction in making everyday life easier for others. You remain calm under pressure, communicate professionally and take pride in delivering thoughtful, discreet support. You may come from a background in: • Nannying., • Nursery or early years education., • Teaching., • Childminding., • Household management., • Hospitality., • Care work., • Professional cooking., • Gardening or horticulture. Experience in every area isn't necessary. We recruit for attitude, initiative and integrity just as highly as we recruit for experience. Essential Requirements • Full UK driving licence., • Access to your own reliable vehicle., • Right to work in the UK., • Excellent spoken and written English., • Professional and trustworthy manner., • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality., • Comfortable working independently., • Two satisfactory references. An Enhanced DBS certificate is preferred. Where appropriate, Root & Nest may fund a new DBS application for exceptional candidates. Desirable Qualifications & Experience Applicants may have experience or qualifications including: • Norland training., • CACHE qualifications., • NVQ Childcare., • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years., • Teaching experience., • Nursery experience., • Paediatric First Aid., • Food Hygiene certification., • SEN experience., • Household management., • Professional cooking., • Nutrition., • Gardening or horticulture.
