Job Title: Bid Writer / Tender & Proposal Specialist Location: Ingatestone, Essex (Hybrid available) Salary: Competitive dependent on experience Contract: Full-time, Permanent We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join a growing organisation within the construction and built environment sector. This role will be responsible for managing the full pre-construction bid process, from pre-qualification through to tender submission, ensuring high-quality, compliant and compelling bid responses. Role Overview The Bid Manager will take ownership of pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), tenders and bid submissions, coordinating inputs from internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver professional, timely and competitive submissions. Key Responsibilities Manage pre-qualification, tender and bid activities through to final submission Develop clear, well-written proposals that communicate operational, technical and commercial solutions Draft, review and edit bid responses to ensure compliance with client requirements and evaluation criteria Undertake detailed assessment of bid deliverables and submission requirements Prepare bid submission matrices, allocating responsibilities for each section Develop and agree bid programmes, including key milestones, review dates and deadlines Coordinate document formatting and final production with internal contributors Monitor receipt of information from contributors and ensure deadlines are met Collate feedback from bid reviews and outcomes to support continuous improvement Arrange, attend and chair bid launch meetings, including preparation of agendas and action trackers Maintain and update the bid library, case studies and supporting materials Develop project case studies and supporting content for future submissions Attend site visits and clarification meetings as required Key Stakeholders This role works closely with senior management, operations, estimating teams, business support functions, operational staff and external clients or delivery partners.
