Scheme Delivery Manager - Highways 📍 Location: Ipswich, IP1 (Suffolk) The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Scheme Delivery Manager to join a long-term highways maintenance and improvement contract in Suffolk. This is a key role within a busy construction delivery team, overseeing multiple schemes and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This position is ideal for a proactive construction professional with strong leadership skills and proven experience delivering highways or civil engineering projects. Key Responsibilities • Manage and maintain construction programmes to ensure works are delivered safely, on time and within budget, • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors efficiently, • Ensure Construction Phase Plans, method statements and safe systems of work are in place prior to works commencing, • Maintain high HSEQ standards across all schemes, • Liaise with key stakeholders including local authorities, designers, network managers and community representatives, • Ensure all site personnel are competent, trained and compliant, • Take responsibility for commercial performance in collaboration with commercial teams, • Maintain accurate site records including site diaries, resource allocation and as-built information, • Support programme development, phasing plans and construction methodologies, • Build and maintain strong relationships with supply chain partners, • Support Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), buildability reviews and traffic management integration, • Participate in value engineering and value management activities, • Work in line with internal quality, safety and environmental procedures Requirements: Qualifications • SMSTS or IOSH, • CSCS, • Full UK Driving Licence, • Proven experience delivering highways or civil engineering schemes, • Strong understanding of health and safety management, • Ability to manage costs and control budgets effectively, • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, • Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset, • Strong commitment to safety-first working, • Leads by example and promotes positive team behaviours, • Communicates clearly and professionally at all levels, • Long-term, secure infrastructure programme, • Varied and challenging project portfolio, • Opportunity to play a key role in improving local highways If interested in this role please apply now and contact Luke Thompson for more information.
