These explain the job role and the type of person we're looking for. \n Location: Aberdeen City Music School, Halls of Residence, Duration: Permanent, Term Time Full Time \n Roles that require PVG Membership \n Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 10 and above (currently £30,030 per annum / £16.50 per hour) \n The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment. \n Job purpose/about the role \n To assist the Residence Manager in the running of ACMS Boarding and to deputise in their absence, ensuring the service provides at all times a high quality service to the pupils of ACMS. ACMS boarding is registered with the Care Inspectorate as a mainstream school care accommodation service. \n The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:\n • SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 9 or approved equivalent i.e. SVQ/NVQ Health and Social Care (Level 4), SVQ 4 Health and Social Care at SCQF Level 9 to be able to register as a Supervisor with the SSSC.\n, • SSSC/GTC/NMC Registration or willing to become a member\n, • Protection of vulnerable Groups (PVG) membership\nThe postholder is able to demonstrate:\n, • Experience of working with young people and their families\n, • Experience of staff supervision and people management\n, • Organisational skills\n, • Leadership skills\n, • Ability to work well in a team\n, • The ability to produce high quality written records and reports\n, • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with young people, their families and other stakeholders\n, • Good IT skills including the use of Microsoft packages\n, • The ability to make decisions and take responsibility for own practice, seeking advice and support as necessary and also support the team with their practice\n, • have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 (all jobs)\n, • looked after young people, those that are in continuing care or are a care leaver up to the age of 29 (all jobs)\n, • are aged 16-24 and live in Aberdeen City or have been to an Aberdeen City Council school and are applying for a Modern Apprenticeship (except Trades apprenticeships)\n, • have done a Foundation Apprenticeship with Aberdeen City Council and are applying for any apprenticeships relevant to the area in which they did their Foundation Apprenticeship\n \n
