Electronics Repair Engineer / Audio Service TechnicianLocation: TiptonJob Type: Full-Time, PermanentSalary: £30,000 per annum Working Hours Monday to Friday08:15 – 16:30 or 08:30 – 16:45(30-minute lunch break) About the Role We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electronics Repair Engineer to join our busy audio repair and service department in Tipton. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and testing a wide range of home audio products including: • CD players, • Radios, • Hi-Fi systems, • Amplifiers, • Turntables, • Speakers, • Portable audio equipment You will work as part of an experienced technical team, carrying out component-level repairs and ensuring products are restored to a high standard of performance and reliability. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong fault-finding abilities and a genuine interest in consumer electronics and audio equipment. Key Responsibilities, • Diagnose faults on electronic and electro-mechanical audio products, • Carry out component-level repairs on PCBs and assemblies, • Repair and service CD players, radios, amplifiers, and related equipment, • Use test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators, • Replace faulty components including capacitors, resistors, ICs, switches, and connectors, • Perform final testing and quality checks on repaired units, • Accurately record repair information using internal service systems, • Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer care, • Keep workbench and repair area clean, organised, and safe, • Assist with technical support and continuous improvement within the workshop Skills & Experience Required Essential, • City & Guilds Electronics Level II, NVQ equivalent, or similar qualification, • Experience fault finding and repairing electronic circuits, • Ability to read and understand circuit diagrams and service manuals, • Good soldering and de-soldering skills, • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability, • Good written English and accurate record keeping, • Ability to work independently and manage own workload Desirable, • Experience repairing consumer audio or Hi-Fi equipment, • Familiarity with analogue and digital audio systems, • Experience using oscilloscopes and electronic test equipment, • Knowledge of power supplies, amplifiers, and audio signal paths Personal Attributes, • Enthusiastic and reliable, • Methodical approach to diagnostics and repair, • Pride in producing high-quality work, • Good time management skills, • Team player with a positive attitude, • Interest in electronics, music technology, or audio equipment What We Offer, • Competitive salary of £30,000 per annum, • Stable Monday–Friday working hours, • Friendly and supportive working environment, • Ongoing training and development, • Opportunity to work with a wide range of audio products and technologies, • Staff discounts and company benefits (where applicable) To apply, please send your CV and a short covering letter outlining your experience in electronics repair and audio equipment servicing.
