Vision Fabrications is an award-winning and rapidly expanding company in the Architectural Metalwork & Steel Fabrication Sector. We have recently completed the construction of a purpose built 25,000 Sq. Ft manufacturing facility to accommodate our future plans. We are now looking for an Production Manager to join our Management Team and support the business through the next exciting phase of growth. Due to the requirements of the position, we will only consider applicants who are currently residing in Northern Ireland, Ireland or elsewhere in the UK that are willing to relocate to Northern Ireland and who possess the appropriate right to work. Job Overview The Production Manager is responsible for leading all workshop and site-based production activities within a specialist architectural metalwork and steel fabrication environment. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The Production Manager oversees people, processes, materials, and workflow across fabrication, welding, finishing, and installation teams Duties Operational Leadership • Lead day-to-day workshop operations across fabrication, welding, assembly, and finishing, • Translate drawings, schedules, and project requirements into clear production plans, • Coordinate with design, project management, and procurement to ensure seamless workflow, • Monitor progress against programme, adjusting resources and priorities as required, • Manage and develop a multi-disciplinary team of fabricators, welders, apprentices, and site installers, • Conduct toolbox talks, performance reviews, and skills development plans, • Promote a positive, accountable, safety-first culture, • Ensure all fabricated items meet architectural and structural specifications, • Oversee inspection, testing, and sign-off processes (including weld quality and, • tolerances), • Resolve technical queries from workshop staff and site teams, • Enforce all H&S policies, RAMS, and statutory regulations, • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions, • Ensure safe systems of work, including lifting operations, hot works, and confined spaces, • Develop and manage production schedules, capacity plans, and resource forecasts, • Track KPIs such as productivity, throughput, rework, and on-time delivery, • Report progress, risks, and constraints to senior leadership and project teams, • Ensure timely competitively priced procurement availability of steel, other materials, consumables, fixings, and finishes, • Monitor stock levels and minimise waste, • Oversee goods-in, material handling, and traceability, • Coordinate with site supervisors to ensure smooth installation sequencing, • Ensure fabricated components are delivered correctly labelled, protected, and ready for install Essential • Proven experience in architectural metalwork, structural steel, or heavy fabrication, • Strong understanding of fabrication processes: MIG/TIG welding, cutting, forming, finishing, • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models, • Demonstrated leadership in a workshop or production environment, • Excellent organisational and communication skills, • Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, or workflow optimisation, • Knowledge of CE / UKCA marking, EN1090, and welding standards, • Familiarity with digital job tracking or production management software, • Calm, decisive, and solutions-focused under pressure, • Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and develop teams, • Detail-oriented with a passion for quality craftsmanship, • Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities, • On-time delivery of projects, • Reduction in rework and defects, • Workshop productivity and throughput, • Safety performance and compliance, • Labour utilisation and cost control, • Quality of communication with project teams and client Compensation & Benefits • Competitive salary, • 40 hrs per week on a 4 day week, • Career progression, • Contributory pension scheme
