Job Title: Kirkuk Materials Management, Inventory Management and Warehousing Specialist Job Location: Sunbury - Hybrid Contract Length: 12 Months Industry: Oil and Energy, Legal Working Hours: 8 per day/ 40 per week What you will do: • The successful candidate will develop and implement materials management strategies aligned with project and business objectives., • The role is key to overseeing material movements, ensuring timely availability and safe handling across all operational sites., • The specialist will also manage third-party service providers to deliver effective and efficient material support., • The successful candidate will maintain accurate inventory records, optimize stock levels using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo), define replenishment parameters (min/max levels, safety stock, reorder points) and execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP)., • The role will involve conducting periodic stock reviews and managing surplus material disposal to maximize investment recovery., • In terms of warehousing operations, the role will ensure secure receipt, storage, and distribution of materials at warehouse facilities and pipe yards, implementing best practices for warehouse safety, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and hazard reporting., • The role will be key to driving continuous improvement in warehouse processes and technology adoption with our partners NOC and NGC., • The role will work closely with our partners in NOC and NGC to establish the state of existing materials management infrastructure, including the systems, processes, and resources that support the efficient handling and flow of materials within the Kirkuk fields, from the physical storage and transportation of materials to the software and technologies used for tracking and managing inventory., • You will work closely with technical and project management stakeholders to ensure products and services are delivered safely, to specification and in line with contractual agreements., • You will provide transparent reporting on material status and inventory health to business partners and drive safe, reliable and compliant operations within areas of responsibility., • Support development and implementation of materials management procedures., • Partner with MM service providers to align the short and long-term expectations and execute defined supplier management activities., • Support the team to deliver efficient and effective warehouse management, inventory, material coordination and inbound logistics., • Provide guidance on development activities and to identify training initiatives to nurture the business facing team and develop capability., • Advise on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system functionality required to support effective materials management., • Use relevant regional/site metrics for the physical supply chain to measure MM performance, value contribution and benchmarks., • Conduct regular site monitoring activities to verify conformance to warehousing standards., • Collaborate with Procurement Advisors to improve suppler on-time delivery, and efficiency throughout the physical supply chain., • Supports audits and cost recovery matters. What you will have: You will have a University degree and CIPS professional chartership (or equivalent) is preferred. However, experience and attitude are key, and we're looking for someone who has: • Genuine passion for the Oil and Gas business, materials management and the supply chain., • Demonstrable track record of delivery in materials management, ideally related to oil and gas services with large capex or onshore scopes., • Commercial mindset, analytical skills, and able to confidently negotiate large complex contracts and liaise with all levels of stakeholders., • Working knowledge of P2P systems/ERP systems such as SAP and software tools, as well as procurement authorities, and operational procurement execution., • Ability to perform effectively in a team environment, interfacing with contractors, suppliers and multi-discipline project teams, demonstrating agile, collaborative, respectful and tactful personal characteristics., • Knowledge of materials management activities and other fundamental Logistics industry operational activities., • Understanding of the safety risks associated with Warehousing and Logistics and risk mitigation activities., • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with individuals across multiple disciplines and geographies, across organizational boundaries and levels within BP and with suppliers. Final Summary: This role is in support of bp's Middle East and North Africa Growth entity working within one of the world’s most prolific hydrocarbon provinces. This role will form part of the multi-disciplinary Kirkuk procurement team which will work together to bring our experience of managing giant fields to realise the potential of this important asset for Iraq, working alongside and in close partnership with NOC and NGC.
