Job Title: Lecturer in Business Management \n \n Job Purpose: London School of Management Education (LSME) is a Higher Education provider based in East London with niche areas of Business Management, Health and Social Care, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Accounting and Finance and Education. LSME is a forward-thinking, fast-paced, highly innovative college looking to build a team of creative and competent staff. The College is currently seeking a Lecturer to teach modules within the university-validated BSc (Hons) in Business Management programme. \n \n Responsibilities \n\n • Be fully conversant with the specification and learning materials for the module(s) taught.\n, • Update the content and/or reading lists for the module(s) taught.\n, • Attend and participate in induction, staff development programme and other trainings as required.\n, • Develop a Teaching Scheme to deliver the specified number of Lectures/ seminars/ workshops as per guidance.\n, • Develop an assessment strategy for each module for approval by the University.\n, • Create a marking scheme for each individual assessment for approval by the University.\n, • Address issues concerning the student learning experience in consultation with the Principal and the Programme Leader.\n, • Identify students requiring additional support and organise appropriate support.\n, • Attend to announced and unannounced University visits to observe teaching and co-operate with such visits.\n, • Provide formative feedback as well as overall summative assessment of student work and keep a record of student achievement.\n, • Provide a written report at the end of each module taught.\n, • To be available to meet with the University link tutor, as required.\n, • Assist in the appointment of a representative from each group of students they teach to provide feedback to the relevant Programme Committees.\n, • Attend relevant Programme Committee meetings.\n, • Conform to the Policies and Procedures of LSME and the University in such areas as (but not limited to) equal opportunities, health and safety, etc.\n, • Participate in internally organised research activities, conferences, seminars, workshops, training programmes, social activities, events etc.\n, • To undertake other duties commensurate with the pay grade and/or hours of work as may reasonably be required of teaching staff at the same level.\n\n \n PERSON SPECIFICATION \n \n Qualifications: \n A Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Management, Business and Finance, Accounting and Finance or a related field with teaching qualifications. \n \n Proven experience and skills: \n\n • Preferably 3 years’ teaching experience of University programmes and working in a Higher Education establishment in the UK.\n, • Online/blended teaching skills and experience.\n, • ICT skills in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook are essential\n, • Proficiency in written and spoken English.\n\n \n Delivering academic and service excellence: \n\n • Professional conduct in all interactions with staff and students.\n, • Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.\n, • Attention to detail and accurate reporting.\n, • Ability to maintain thorough and organised student records.\n, • Punctuality and ability to follow procedures.\n\n \n Managing self and inspiring others: \n\n • Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.\n, • Highly motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.\n, • Commitment to self-improvement and open to constructive feedback.\n\n \n Working together: \n\n • Excellent communication skills.\n, • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.\n, • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.\n\n \n Organisational and stakeholder awareness: \n\n • Good organisational skills.\n, • Good time management and punctuality.\n\n \n Right to work in the UK: \n Candidates must be UK residents and have the right to work in the UK. \n \n LSME abides by the ‘Mindful Employer Charter’ and is a ‘Disability Confident’ employer. \n \n Job Type: Full-time (Contract) \n \n Mode of delivery: Face-to-face on-site \n \n Location: Gants Hill, Ilford, Essex IG2 6EY, UK \n \n Salary: £38,000.00 - £45,000.00 annual \n \n Job Start date: September 2026
