SEN Complex Needs Teacher \n Specialist SEND School – Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire \n A welcoming and highly regarded specialist school in Aylesbury is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic and skilled Complex Needs Teacher to join its dedicated and supportive team. \n This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people aged 4–19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of additional complex needs. Pupils follow highly personalised learning programmes designed to develop communication, independence, social skills and preparation for adulthood. \n The Role \n As a Complex Needs Teacher, you will: \n\n • Take responsibility for the learning, progress and wellbeing of all pupils within your class.\n, • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and highly differentiated lessons that meet each pupil's individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes.\n, • Lead, support and work collaboratively with a team of SEND Teaching Assistants to provide consistently high-quality classroom provision.\n, • Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes communication, functional literacy and numeracy, life skills and independence.\n, • Use a range of communication approaches, including AAC, Makaton, PECS and sensory strategies where appropriate.\n, • Work closely with therapists, families and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to each pupil's education.\n, • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.\n, • Promote positive behaviour through proactive, relationship-based approaches.\n, • Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, health and wellbeing are maintained at all times.\n\n The Ideal Candidate \n We are looking for a teacher who: \n\n • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is an Early Career Teacher (ECT) with a passion for SEND.\n, • Has experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with complex learning needs, SLD, PMLD and/or Autism.\n, • Has either Primary or Secondary teaching experience.\n, • Can deliver engaging, personalised learning that celebrates every small step of progress.\n, • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills and enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.\n, • Maintains high expectations and believes every child can succeed with the right support.\n, • Demonstrates resilience, patience, empathy and a positive attitude.\n, • Is committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice.\n, • Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.\n\n What the School Offers \n The successful candidate will benefit from: \n\n • A welcoming, experienced and highly supportive leadership team.\n, • Comprehensive induction and ongoing professional development, including specialist SEND training.\n, • Opportunities for career progression and leadership development.\n, • A collaborative multi-disciplinary environment, working alongside therapists and specialist practitioners.\n, • Well-resourced classrooms and excellent facilities.\n, • A positive, nurturing school community where staff wellbeing is valued.\n, • The opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference to the lives of children and young people with complex needs.\n\n If you are a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to inspire, support and empower pupils with additional needs, we would love to hear from you.
