Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN SchoolLocation: Bury, Greater ManchesterStart Date: September 2026Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at a specialist primary SEN school in Bury from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities, supporting them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially. The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs, and learning disabilities. You will help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive. Key Responsibilities • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups., • Assist with the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities., • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing., • Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and personal development., • Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment., • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and external agencies.The Ideal Candidate Will Have, • Experience working with children, ideally within an SEN or primary school setting., • A patient, caring, and resilient approach., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families., • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children., • Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.What We Offer, • A welcoming and supportive staff team., • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities., • The chance to make a meaningful impact on children's lives every day., • A rewarding and varied role within a specialist educational setting.
