Role Overview As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role within the engineering team, delivering technically robust, compliant, and commercially competitive design solutions. You will work closely with manufacturing, project delivery, compliance, and quality teams to ensure products meet performance and safety standards while supporting both bespoke and standard product ranges. Key Responsibilities • Lead design activities from concept through detailed design, documentation, and production implementation, • Generate and review technical specifications, engineering drawings, and 2D/3D CAD models, • Produce engineering calculations and analysis (structural, load, materials, tolerances), • Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and project teams, • Maintain design records, KPIs, and version control processes, • Provide technical guidance on materials, costing, and manufacturing methods, • Extensive experience in mechanical design engineering, • Background in heavy engineering, fabrication, or structural products preferred, • Strong 3D CAD and 2D documentation skills, • Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and compliance standards, • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, • Experience working with cross-functional teams, • Proven track xrnqpay record delivering high-quality engineering design projects, • Ability to interpret and apply relevant standards and legislation, • Proactive approach to innovation and continuous improvement, • Opportunity to work on bespoke, technically challenging engineering projects, • Collaborative and supportive engineering environment
