This employer is looking for a Laboratory Chemist to carry out laboratory project work to support sales of their product ranges. \n Laboratory Chemist \n Location: Portlethen, Aberdeen AB12 \n Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, or flexible options available \n Salary: Competitive DOE \n Contract: Permanent \n The Employer's Vision & Purpose \n This organisation delivers world-class chemical solutions, driving responsible energy production with people at their core.” \n They are looking for a Laboratory Chemist to carry out laboratory project work to support sales of their product ranges. The chemist plans, undertakes and reports laboratory evaluations ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and legislation. \n The role is based in their in-house laboratory which provides the necessary QC, R&D, as well as technical support required for their current and future product range. There are three grades of chemist which can be progressed through via training, development and worked experience. There will be the occasional requirement to travel to offshore installations as required. \n Your Core Responsibilities and Tasks \n\n • Work safely and effectively in a laboratory environment, adhering to COSHH and risk assessments.\n, • Undertakes General Laboratory Projects to overcome customers’ technical challenges. When necessary, carries out product development to provide sustainable solutions that contribute to future sales.\n, • Performs quality control (QC) testing on raw materials and formulated products. Assists the manufacturing team with technical and product enquiries.\n, • Undertakes projects for the Drilling & Completions product line, applying the skills used in general laboratory projects alongside more in-depth testing and product development specific to these products\n\n What They Are Looking For \n\n • Proven experience in a laboratory role, ideally with knowledge of drilling and completion fluid formulating (testing and field applications are a distinct advantage).\n, • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Teams and PowerPoint.\n, • Ability to actively engage in resolving and promoting solutions to meet the requirements of their customers.\n, • Willingness to be flexible and adapt to the operational needs of the laboratory team through providing assistance to other lab departments as required.\n, • Offshore experience would be an advantage but not essential.\n\n What The Employer Can Offer \n\n • 33 days annual leave with option to buy/sell 5 days after successful completion of probation\n, • 8% Employer Pension Contribution\n, • 4 x Salary Life Assurance\n, • Income Protection up to 75% of salary\n, • EAP with access to physio, GP, counselling sessions\n, • Cycle To work\n, • Tech Benefits\n, • Flu Vaccinations / Health Checks\n, • Electric car salary sacrifice scheme\n, • Quarterly staff socials\n\n Closing Date: Friday 2nd October at 23:59pm \n Interested? \n To find out more information, please click the apply button.
