You'll play a vital role in maximising equipment performance, supporting continuous improvement projects, and contributing to the overall reliability and efficiency of site operations.\n\nThe Job You Will Do:\n\n * Provide emergency breakdown support to production machinery and equipment\n\n * Conduct regular planned maintenance as per the maintenance schedule\n\n * Support the UK Engineering Manager with engineering projects, including design, specification, purchasing, and installation\n\n * Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs across a wide range of production and support equipment\n\n * Monitor equipment performance, identifying and resolving recurring issues\n\n * Maintain accurate records for all maintenance activities\n\n * Assist with external contractors and service engineers, ensuring adherence to safety standards\n\n * Ensure all work aligns with company Health & Safety, ISO 14001, and other internal and external compliance standards\n\n * Take part in initiatives to improve downtime, efficiency, and health and safety\n\n * Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment\n\nAbout You:\n\nIdeally HNC qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred)\n\nRecognised time-served apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance\n\nNVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Operations or equivalent\n\nProven maintenance experience in a factory/manufacturing environment (essential)\n\nPost-apprenticeship experience in a similar role (desirable)\n\nKnowledge of Motors, drives, PLCs, gearboxes, transmissions\n\nStrong team player with proactive attitude\n\nExcellent initiative and problem-solving skills\n\nAble to prioritise and adapt to changing schedules\n\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy\n\nConfident communicator across all levels and departments

Our client specializes in the manufacture of products for the water treatment and building services sectors. Due to growth they now require a Mechanical Design Engineer to work from their busy North East hub. The Role Support quick cost and sizing estimation of project orders Initiate and manage Engineer to Order pumping projects and ensure project requirements are fulfilled from enquiry to delivery and commissioned phase, full end to end project involvement. Create general arrangement designs from customer specifications including P&ID. Support Project Fulfilment Manager with project control. For complex orders, coordinate project requirements and expedite action registers across Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Production, Logistics and external stakeholders. Continually develop and improve project order processes Support the implementation and development of Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen The Person Qualified to degree level in mechanical or Structural engineering is preferred or a minimum of ONC in a related engineering discipline with relevant experience. Experience in delivering engineered products and services. Automotive or pumping solutions experience advantageous but not essential. Experience in new product introduction or project delivery with a strong drive to ensure that commitments are met or exceeded. Proficiency with a leading 2/3D CAD package is desirable for the ability to create general arrangement drawings. Catia and Revit advantageous. Experience of enterprise resource planning systems, i.e. SAP is desirable. Competent with Microsoft packages
