Your new firm Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Claims Handler with a strong background in Professional Indemnity to support the management of complex claims on behalf of insurers and corporate clients. The role involves handling claims efficiently, ensuring excellent client service, and working closely with legal and underwriting teams. There will also be the opportunity to enjoy client secondments. Some travel to their offices in the South West and/or London may be required on occasion, but this will be expensed. Your new company Our client, a collaborative and nurturing international firm, is looking for a Technical Claims Handler to join their Professional Indemnity team in Bristol, who act on numerous high-value and sensitive claims for clients throughout the UK including solicitors, surveyors, accountants, brokers, engineers, architects and their insurers. This role is based in our client's Bristol office, however you will be able to work remotely from home for part of the week if desired as the firm operates a hybrid working policy. Your new role As a Technical Claims Handler, you will join an already established but growing team that handles professional indemnity claims made against professionals on an outsourced basis. Working with the Head of Claims and other team members, you will be responsible for a technical caseload of varied professional indemnity claims ensuring the delivery of a first-class claims experience to policyholders and accurate reporting to Insurers. You will be able to identify gaps in information and investigate notifications effectively protecting the insurer and insured's position. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively and with other Claims Handlers and Managers in training and coaching other team members. The team provides significant value to the wider law firm as an internal client through the provision of referral instructions to act as panel solicitors and is an important aspect of the firm's insurance business and future strategy. The claims are varied, arising out of every aspect of a professional's practice, and as such they require a rigorous and accurate assessment of cover, liability, and quantum. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will need to be an experienced claims handler along with technical claims knowledge and expertise which demonstrates your experience level. You will need to have a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and legal frameworks and the importance of compliance. On top of this, demonstrable customer service skills with the ability to deal with difficult or demanding situations and clients, along with great communication skills, both orally and in writing is expected. You will need the ability to prioritise effectively and adapt plans, accordingly, consistently producing high quality work even when meeting tight timescales. Desirable but not essential: • LLB Law, GDL, ACII, CILEx or equivalent legal qualifications., • Experience of relationship management (internal and external)., • Previous experience of working with a case management system. You will work on a caseload centred on complex, high-value personal injury matters, with a particular focus on traumatic brain injury (adult and child), complex orthopaedic injuries, and fatal incident / inquest work.In this role, you will manage and progress serious injury claims involving long-term rehabilitation needs and complex liability and quantum issues. What You'll Need to Succeed Ideally, you will be a solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of two years' experience in personal injury, including exposure to serious or catastrophic injury work. You will bring proven experience in traumatic brain injury claims, along with strong technical ability, excellent attention to detail and confidence handling complex litigation tasks. You will be naturally empathetic, calm under pressure and effective when supporting vulnerable clients and their families. A collaborative approach is essential, along with the ability to contribute positively within a team-led model of case management. You should be proactive, highly organised and confident taking ownership of your work while operating as part of a wider group. We are seeking a Support Engineer with combined expertise in Cryogenics, Electrical & Controls, and Process Engineering. This role supports commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing technical support for advanced helium and hydrogen systems. It combines hands-on commissioning and process work with remote diagnostics and international collaboration. AT THE COAL FACE / TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and support commissioning of helium and hydrogen liquefaction and recovery systems across the UK and Europe. Configure, calibrate, and test electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to meet design and safety specifications. Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and technical support for control and process systems. Analyse process data to optimise system performance and reliability. Collaborate with engineering teams globally to refine designs and improve commissioning practices. Support process design, thermal loss calculations, and the design of vacuum-insulated vessels and piping systems. Document all testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities in accordance with project requirements. Ensure compliance with UK and international electrical, safety, and pressure system standards.
