Secondary Teacher of MFL - Dover • Job Title: Teacher of MFL, • Key Stages: 3 & 4 (KS5 possible for the right candidate), • Location: Dover, • Start Date: September 2026, • Salary: £170.00 to £260.00 per day (In line with your current pay scale) Secondary Teacher of MFL - Dover Academics in Canterbury are currently working with a "Good" secondary school in Dover who are seeking a committed and dedicated Teacher of MFL (French). This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, innovative and successful department teaching Modern Foreign Languages - French and Spanish - KS3 through to GCSE level and perhaps A-Level too. Responsibilities: • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective language lessons to students in accordance with the curriculum., • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity in language acquisition., • Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom., • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback for improvement., • Collaborate with colleagues within the MFL department to develop and enhance the curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant and engaging for students., • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and progress reports., • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, achievement, and any concerns that may arise., • Actively participate in departmental and staff meetings, as well as professional development opportunities, to continue to refine teaching practices and stay up-to-date with educational developments. Requirements: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification recognized in the UK., • Strong subject knowledge in at least one modern foreign language, with the ability to teach French and/or Spanish up to Key Stage 4., • A genuine passion for foreign languages and the ability to inspire this passion in students., • Experience in delivering high-quality language lessons, utilizing innovative teaching and learning strategies., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
