GAVO supports, facilitates and brokers positive change for the well-being of people and communities through collaborative approaches DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Salary Scp 48 50 (£50,683 - £52,878) 37 Hours per week Permanent Office based with supported agile working across GAVO offices in Gwent (Caerphilly, Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire, Newport). About the role The Deputy Chief Executive Officer will act as a senior strategic leader within GAVO, strengthening external influence, partnership working and national engagement, while providing clear direction and oversight of the organisations Strategic and Operational Plans. The DCEO plays a critical role in connecting GAVOs delivery, partnerships and national work, ensuring the organisation is strategically positioned, responsive to opportunity and aligned with the expectations of the Board, funders and the Third Sector Support Wales (TSSW) framework. The postholder deputises for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as required and works alongside them to provide visible, credible leadership internally, regionally and nationally. About you You will bring proven strategic leadership experience from within the voluntary, community, or public sector. Youll have operated confidently at a senior level, working closely with boards or governing bodies, and will have a strong track record of building effective partnerships and representing your organisation externally. You will hold a relevant management qualification (e.g., Level 5) or be able to demonstrate equivalent senior leadership experience. A commitment to continuous personal and professional development is essential, along with the ability to inspire others and contribute to a positive, collaborative culture. We deliver our services across four Local Authority areas in Gwent; Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire and Newport.
