About the Role TeacherActive is delighted to be working with a leading and well-established college in Cambridge, recognised for its outstanding provision and commitment to learner success. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lecturer in Bricklaying & Multi-skills to join the Construction & Building Services department. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering practical and theory-based sessions that prepare students for industry progression. This position begins on 14th April and will continue on an ongoing basis. Role Purpose Your core responsibility will be to deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching and assessment across Bricklaying and Multi-skills programmes. You will support learners in developing strong vocational skills, underpinning knowledge, and the confidence needed to succeed in the workplace. You will also contribute to curriculum planning, course development, and wider departmental responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning Deliver high-quality teaching across Bricklaying and Multi-skills courses Provide engaging, practical lessons suited to a range of learners Ensure teaching meets awarding body and college standards Develop and maintain high-quality teaching materials, practical resources, and assessments Incorporate Maths and English into vocational delivery Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment Assessment & Administration Undertake assessment, internal verification, and moderation Maintain accurate learner records and documentation Complete all administrative duties required for effective programme delivery Tutorial Responsibilities Act as a course tutor where required Support students in achieving targets and progressing toward employment or further study Monitor, track, and review learner progress Provide constructive feedback to students and relevant stakeholders Recruitment & Promotion Support student recruitment and course promotion activities Attend internal and external events as required Teamwork & Curriculum Development Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Construction team Contribute to curriculum reviews and new course development Help maintain strong relationships with awarding organisations Professional Development & Industry Engagement Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge within Bricklaying and wider construction trades Engage in continuous professional development Support the development of industry-informed teaching strategies The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Proven teaching experience within Bricklaying or Construction trades A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS) An IQA qualification (e.g., Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice) Strong practical experience within Bricklaying and/or Multi-skills Knowledge of current vocational qualification systems and assessment practice Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills A passion for supporting learners to achieve their full potential What You Can Expect in Return A supportive and collaborative department environment Opportunities for ongoing development Competitive rates of pay The chance to make a real difference and shape the future workforce A role that offers variety, creativity, and strong professional pride Apply Now If you have the skills, experience, and passion to deliver outstanding teaching in Bricklaying and Multi-skills, we would love to hear from you.
