The Role Based at a customer location, this role involves providing technical support for INX products. It is a physical role, involving mixing ink, colour matching, technical problem solving and supplying finished ink as per customer specifications. There is also work with IT systems including IMS and X-Rite. The role involves: • Ensuring that the stock of inks and bases is consistent with the needs of the customer's production., • Manufacturing ink on site., • Providing reports to the customer with respect to ink consumption., • Providing 24-hour cover to the customer's plant to address any ink related issue. Main Responsibilities • Providing on-site colour matching where appropriate., • Monitoring ink usage and ensures that ink formulations are the best that can be achieved to give optimum mileage. • Attending customer's daily meetings if invited or any other as required., • Reporting any deficiencies in the technical performance of ink to INX Management., • Controlling all aspects of stock, and placing timely orders for replacement stock on the Mother Plant, • Checking incoming goods and for inputting all data necessary into the INX ink management software to record and adjust stock with respect to deliveries, made on site, ink issued to lines and returned, and ink ordered from the Mother Plant. • Manufacturing ink on site from bases where the quantity required does not necessitate bulk manufacture from the Mother Plant., • Maintaining accurate records and retained batch details and wet samples of all ink made on site (kept for 18 months). • Transmitting End Of Day (EOD) information to the Mother Plant if using INX Manager software, • Hygiene and Health & Safety standards, ensuring all areas under in-plant control meet high standards of excellence. • Adhering to all customer rules, especially Health and Safety and Security requirements., • Represent INX in a professional manner, in terms of work approach, conduct and dress. The Candidate • Desirable to have worked in the ink manufacturing industry., • Desirable to have worked in a laboratory, chemical or pharmaceutical environment., • Must be able to speak and write English fluently., • Basic qualification in Maths and English is required., • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Work and Excel., • Strong knowledge of 5S and able to work cleanly., • You must be able to identify, distinguish and differentiate between different coloured inks., • Physical job requiring manual handling, which includes lifting and working with machinery., • Must live within 45 mins of the customer site due to callout requirement., • Must be able to work 1 in 3 weeks on 24/7 standby callout., • Must be able to travel to mother plant (near Manchester) for initial training period (accommodation & expenses paid for). The rigour, the discipline, the peace and quiet when everything just hums along. Our infrastructure is in a good place for now. Nothing is static. Ashby continues to grow rapidly, putting strain on our existing infrastructure. I’m sharing our tech stack with the caveat that we don’t require previous experience in it: TypeScript (frontend & backend), Node.js, React, Apollo GraphQL, Postgres, Redis. We use Datadog and Sentry on 100% cloud-based (AWS) infra. We take developer experience and reliability seriously: all engineers are on call in a follow-the-sun model, and everyone contributes to developer tooling. As engineers, we are used to tooling that makes us better at what we do. When we started Ashby, we saw the opposite with Talent Acquisition software. Recruiting teams were leveling up how they did their work, but instead of software meeting this new standard, it held them back. Scheduling a final round is an excellent example. Recruiting teams wanted to schedule candidates faster, track interviewer preparation and quality, and do it with half the headcount. A recruiter needed to manually collect availability from the candidate, identify qualified interviewers, perform “Calendar Tetris” to find who is available to interview the candidate, schedule on the earliest date possible, and make any last‑minute adjustments as availability changed. They must do this while considering the interview load on each individual and whether interviewers need to be trained and shadowing others. TA software didn’t help. As hiring managers, we know TA is a critical function, and as engineers, we know software can do better. So, we built and continue to build Ashby to give TA teams the highest standard of tooling. Software that’s intelligent and powerful. Software that provides insights into where they’re failing and automates or simplifies many of the tasks they’re underwater with.
