Please note that this role is completely remote and no relocation is required here The Mission We have partnered with a game studio working on a first person extraction shooter title that is now searching for multiple UE5 developers to come and join them and focus on typical moment-to-moment gameplay. What You’ll Do • Architect Core Systems: Own the development of critical gameplay features including advanced character movement, animation, weapon mechanics (ballistics, recoil, attachments), and shooting systems (including via state machines) or UI., • Master the GAS: Utilize and extend the Unreal Gameplay Ability System (GAS) to create a robust framework for player perks, status effects, and tactical gadgets., • High-Stakes Networking: Implement highly optimized, lag-compensated multiplayer code. In an extraction shooter, a "ghost hit" can cost a player hours of progress—you’ll ensure our replication is rock-solid., • Optimise: Work on existing solutions as well as integrate new features into Unreal Engine 5. Communicate and collaborate with different departments within the studio and write clean, modular and maintainable C++ code. If you have a love for the extraction genre (thinking Hunt: Showdown for example), and you have previously worked on a shooting game, then bonus points awarded here. If this sounds like something of interest, please don't hesitate to reach out to me by applying here and/or sending me a copy of your CV to and I will review as quickly as possible.
