Milk Education are working with a welcoming primary school in Ponteland who are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This long-term role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, both within the classroom and through targeted small-group or 1:1 support. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for making a meaningful impact on the learning and wellbeing of children with SEND. What We’re Looking For You do not need a formal TA qualification, but you must have: • Recent experience (within the last 5 years) working with children, ideally including some SEN exposure, • A patient, calm, and nurturing approach, • Good communication and relationship-building skills, • Confidence working with children who may have:, • Autism / communication needs, • Speech & language delays, • Social, emotional, or behavioural needs, • Mild to moderate learning difficulties, • A flexible and positive attitude, • Willingness to follow SEN strategies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO Your Responsibilities May Include: • Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs, • Running small-group interventions, • Adapting learning activities to suit individual needs, • Supporting communication, social skills, and emotional regulation, • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons, • Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff, • Helping create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment Why Work With Milk Education? • Friendly, supportive consultants, • Free training and SEN CPD opportunities, • Long-term opportunities for career development, • A well-established reputation in North East schools How to Apply If you are enthusiastic about supporting pupils with SEND and are looking for a rewarding role in a lovely Ponteland primary school, we want to hear from you.
