They’re looking for a Datacoms Technician to join a high-performing Engineering team, supporting and delivering advanced networking solutions across VSAT, LTE and global infrastructures. What you’ll be doing You’ll play a key role in supporting and delivering customer network solutions, working across the full lifecycle from build through to support: • Supporting and maintaining complex customer network environments (VSAT, LTE, global networks), • Investigating and resolving escalated technical issues with a structured, customer-focused approach, • Assisting with the build, configuration, testing and installation of networks both at HQ and remote sites, • Working on a range of solutions including VoIP, firewalling, virtualisation, web filtering and high-availability systems, • Producing and maintaining clear project and technical documentation, • Supporting product evaluation, system integration and new technology adoption, • Travelling at short notice to support installations, surveys and configurations when required What they’re looking for Essential • Strong grounding in TCP/IP networking (routing, switching, firewalls – ideally Layer 7), • Experience troubleshooting complex network and IT issues end-to-end, • Exposure to satellite communications and/or enterprise IT systems, • Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in IT, Networking, Electronics or similar), • Strong communication skills and a proactive, “can do” attitude Desirable • Cisco or Microsoft certifications, • Linux / Windows server knowledge, • VoIP (Asterisk ideally), • Scripting (Bash / Perl), • Experience with system design or project delivery Why join? • Work on global, mission-critical communications systems, • Exposure to cutting-edge satellite and network technologies, • Opportunity to travel and support real-world deployments, • Collaborative engineering environment with strong development opportunities The fit This role suits someone who is: • Technically curious and hands-on, • Comfortable in both support and project environments, • Able to manage competing priorities and think on their feet, • Keen to specialise in advanced communications and networking
