Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Speech Language Pathologist, • Discipline: Therapy, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Local Contract Client: Major Hospital Location: Queens, NY Pay Rate: $40.00/hour W2 | $60.00/hour overtime Schedule: 8×5 schedule (40 hrs/week) 4 weekdays + 1 weekend day Shift Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Weekends and holidays required Setting: Acute care / hospital-based (Surgical Clinic) Position Overview: Major Hospital is seeking a Speech Pathologist / Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support its acute-care Surgical Clinic. This role focuses on evaluating and treating medically complex inpatient populations in a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have prior acute-care experience and demonstrated competency in swallowing and dysphagia-related care. ⸻ Key Responsibilities • Perform speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations for adult acute-care inpatients, • Conduct bedside swallow assessments and support dysphagia management, • Treat patients with medically complex and high-acuity conditions, including post-surgical and acute medical cases, • Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings, • Accurately document evaluations, treatments, and progress notes in the medical record, • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, and rehabilitation teams, • Educate patients and families on treatment goals and safe swallowing strategies, • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and clinical standards ⸻ Required Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in acute care, • Experience working with medically complex patient populations, • Valid New York State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist issued by NYSED, • Primary Source Verification of NYS license required, • At least 1 year of Speech Clinician experience, • Dysphagia training, • Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills ⸻ Preferred Qualifications • BLS certification (preferred, not required) About MedCadre At MedCadre, headquartered in Irvine, California and serving healthcare organizations nationwide, we connect exceptional clinicians with world-class career opportunities while upholding the highest standards of ethics, fairness, and integrity.
